Person Zheng Shuang
I used to love her if am wondering if it is the same case like taylor swift there was also a leaked recording…
Thats not a fair comparison. Unlike taylor swift, zheng shuang has admitted to everything(she didn't address the main issue or apologize) and she literally broke the law. Surrogacy is illegal in China so she basically found a loophole in the system. Even IF later it comes out that the recording was somehow edited or there was another side of the story, the surrogacy part is still enough for her to get banned. Its not just celebrity gossip at this point because she crossed both the moral and legal line in this case.

I do like Wujiayi acting in AMA better and she act & look dumb in this drama, probably the character is supposed…
Xukai probably got forced to take this drama so he can help promote the lesser known actors. Since Wujiayi is in the same company as him, Yuzheng(their boss) probably wants Xukai to help boost her popularity.

Lol why are people freaking out so much here. They are just the rumoured cast, none of actors are confirmed 100%. And by the looks of it, they probably won’t have a set main lead until at least late October or early November. So come back after 2-3 months, you’ll get more of an accurate information. Just a reminder to everyone in the international fan base, never believe ANYTHING in the Chinese drama/film industry unless an official source such as the Official Weibo account, or the actor has confirmed it(Yes not even the boss or director). There’s many instances where the main lead gets changed right before filming or actors/directors gets switched in the middle of filming with other people. So anything is possible.

while i agree that xu kai and bai lu have great chemistry, it doesn't mean that they hve to be together in every…
CP is really a double edge sword. On one hand if you and your costar have really good chemistry, your drama can experience high viewerships and both you and your costar will experience a surge in popularity. BUT there are always consequences. A lot of actors had tried to use the CP route to gain more fans and fame but not one of them have succeeded. Most of them had actually backfired on them. And too much of one thing is never good. Examples include: Deng Yuxin, Denglun, Yangzi, Yangmi, Dilireba,(extreme case) Xiao zhan...etc. The CEnt industry itself was always more favourable to solo stars. Not only fans, general c-netizens also don’t really like or care for CP or combos in artists. And in most cases, people, find actors who purposely use CP for fame annoying. So Xukai and Bailu pairing up together doesn’t benefit either of them. And they had hit dramas with other actors as well. Generally, in China, more people know Xukai from Yanxi and more recently Lingjian Shan than from Zhaoyao or AMA. And Bailu from Untouchable Lovers and Zhaoyao(since it’s her most popular drama as a main lead). So I’m pretty sure they would do fine without each other. Plus they know themselves and industry way better any of us. For both of them to come this far with just a few years in the industry isn’t as easy and simple as they portray it to be. So there’s really no point in fans arguing here because none of us knows what’s going behind the scenes.

I have finished the latest episode(18)and here’s my thoughts.
Plot:
I’m kinda disappointed that the plot is focused more on the romance part. Since all the trailers, the synopsis and the book were all focused on the ML finding his identity and going through different trails, so I thought this was going to be focused mainly on ML’s journey. But as I watched this drama it feels like they are way more focused on the FL and her spy thing. We only got a bit of the ML’s identity plot in the first episode and we are already half way through the drama. Also I don’t know what the directors were thinking on the second main couple but they have way too much screen time. Like in ep. 15, there were literally 40 minutes of them dating and the ML has less than 4 minutes of screen time. And it also took 18 episodes for the FL to finally steal the lingpai. Its bit too long in my opinion. Also the whole the ‘ML chase the FL, gets together, but the gets rejected by the FL due to identity issues and the FL regretting the rejection but then goes on to marry the 2nd ML’ troupe is getting a bit overused in C dramas. I mean I get that the scriptwriters want angst but maybe think out the storyline more and not just use random plot points. The ML and the 2nd prince was surprisingly really cute, I’m kind of curious of how they far their relationship would play out in this drama, since in the book, I remember they were lovers in their past life. I watched the trailers and it looks like they are finally going to pick up the main storyline so I guess that’s something to look forward to. Honestly, if they advertised this as an angsty romance and comedy drama I probably won’t be as disappointed.
Acting:
I really want to praise Xukai here for his improvement. He has a talent for capturing the characters emotions and making it look natural. I especially liked how he acted in ep 16 where he got rejected by the FL. I see a lot of young actors cry in dramas but I can’t feel their sadness because it’s just tears sliding down their faces. There’s no emotion in their eyes or their faces. But for Xukai, I could really feel his despair. The subtle movements of his eyes and face conveyed the emotions perfectly. Bravo.
Wujiayi was okay but I think I liked her performance in Arsenal Military Academy a bit better. She didn’t really have any outstanding performance in the first half of the drama and seemed a bit expressionless in a few scenes. She did get better in the last few episodes so I hope to see better acting in future ones.
OST and VFX:
The songs are good. CGI is terrible but considering it’s a small production company, they are already doing their best.
