I'm just thankful the long c-drama drought with no new shows coming out is over. I'll watch anything right now as long as it's decent and this looks like a good one.

Not sure what was inside the coffin as I have skipped through a lot of episodes; however, the person who helped the ML is shown in the middle of ep 28. It was the 8th Prince who survived the fire and had been investigating on his own in the interim.

It devolves into a mess and never turns back toward its original promise. ML is supposed to be the "greatest general"; however, by ep 23, the series devolves into all kinds of petty fights among- and about- the women. I thought there would be an equal amount of action in this series with the military theme but at this point, it's more like the "Minglan" family interactions. Maybe it will get better at the very end.

It's worth a watch. As with a lot of these type of series, some skipping of episodes might be necessary depending upon your personal preference. I watched well into the amnesia episodes, which then got a little repetitive; thus, I then skipped to the episode right before the ML got his memory back. I didn't miss anything. Now, with the ML's memory back, of course he's going to be his usual oft-putting self until he goes through some stuff and warms up to the FL again.

The industry has come a long way in refining these period dramas in the last 5 years. Like you, I can't get enough of them 😊

It does get more serious in the middle but the charm remains. I found this to be incredibly entertaining after what felt like a long dry spell between the longer blockbuster series. For US audiences, the 2nd ML has the kind of personality that Clint Eastwood had in The Unforgiven. He's a man to be feared but has a soft side for the woman he loves. He can switch off his charm and turn vicious in a split second. You worry that he's going to take his beat downs too far; however, it's fascinating to watch his little side excursions when his personality switches.

I beg to differ as you do talk shit and were very insulting, accusing Mari of being a kid when you don't know the person. You made a blanket statement saying no one over 24 would think different from yourself. Wrong, I'm over 24. Betting you have to have the last word so have at it.

Bibi. If you want to be taken seriously, you shouldn't have a handle that says you "talksshit." Otherwise, every post you have that is a negative post will make people think you're a troll trying to stir things up. Obviously, it's called "acting" for a reason. It's not like they made him simulate sex. His parents and Huang must have agreed to allow him to "act" in this series. Huang has been acting for a long time and it shows onscreen that he is a consummate professional.

There are light romance couples in the series; however, the romances don't drive the series. A few, quick peck-on-the-lip scenes. I found the series enjoyable. A lot of action, different plots going on and with a few twists in the series.

If you like ancient c-drama costume dramas, this is one of the best, right up there with Ashes of Love, The Untamed, Love and Redemption, Eternal Love aka 10 Miles of Peach Blossoms, The Wolf, The Legends, Legend of Fuyao, The Long Ballad. I fast forward through lesser c-dramas as they tend to slow down in the middle of the series. I did not fast forward through Ancient Love Poetry.

Still laughing... so on point about Na Sheng.

Hunter account is probably a marketing ploy. This is what people in marketing do to destroy or denigrate the competition and gear people toward their products instead.

Truly enjoying the series; however, one part was unintentionally hilarious. Beginning of ep 27, ZYC " There are many mechanisms, we must be careful entering the tomb" as they all go rushing, stumbling in during the next scene, lol.

Deng out shined the ML in both of his recent roles. His acting skills are spot on. Hopefully, he gets a heavy hitter sponsor that will be able to fight for some lead roles.

I was so bored with the drama after the beginning that I fast forwarded entire chunks of each episode until near the end when it got interesting again.

@princess_celesta, it's an enjoyable series. Hou Chi is naive because he's been up on his mountain retreat cultivating to hopefully become an Alliance Leader one day; thus, he doesn't have any experience with girls until the FL drops in on him unexpectedly. ML and FL are adorable together and well played by the actors. The only negative is that misunderstandings between them seem to occur more often that they should from a lack of communication or explanation on the FL's part knowing that Hou Chi has a lot to learn about women.

They really needed to match Alen Fang up with a more established female lead. I just couldn't get into the series with her as his leading lady and dropped the series after 16 ep's.
