Honestly, the annoying thing about the ML is not that he is trying to stop her,but how he goes about it. Sure it’s your Job to catch Criminals ,but why be so emotional and preachy when your literally protecting a Killer -.- Also his policework feels kinda clumsy? Which makes the argument „He is doing his job“ even worse. I mean is he? He is hiding under beds, stalking in front of doors, crashing into courtrooms… If you claim that following the law is the way to go,at least live by it..
I really like the Actor though. I hope the writing for him gets better in the next episodes.
Also the old Lady wishing for her Daughters Killer to beg for forgiveness ,should not have made Bitna emotional - obviously this is something that would have never happened, even if she would have ruled the case properly…
I guess I‘m the only one that liked season 2 better… This season has so many plot-holes, was super rushed and was missing Emotion. It‘s still fun to watch though.
Good things: - Monster Hyun-Soo and new Eun-Hyuk are a Vibe
- the ending makes sense and is not depressing.
I do think this season would have been a lot better with more episodes,a lot of the characters needed more story :the villain, the priest, the doctor, the sick woman!
Still if you contemplating watching it,do it! Its not a masterpiece like season 1, but still exciting enough to binge it in one sitting!
I get why a lot of people liked it,but for me it was really bad..maybe because I read the webtoon first. The only Scenes I liked were with Soo Min, Min-Hwan and Hee-Yeon (all 3 were awesome!) Everybody else just felt awkward and unnatural. I know Park Min Young is a great actress,so for her it was definitely the writing that made it bad. But the ML, Na In Woo, was just terrible and everything about him felt awkward. He didn’t have chemistry with anybody! For me it was really uncomfortable to watch most of his scenes. I liked him in Mr.Queen,so I guess it was part acting choices and part bad writing. The cinematography also kind of bothered me,there were so many weird angled shots and closeups that served nothing but to make the characters look awkward and unpleasant.. Really a pity since the Material had really great potential! I blame the director &writer. I probably would have liked it better if I didn’t have high expectations of it to start with. Anyways I’m clearly in the minority here,so don’t let this deter you from watching!I guess if you don’t know the story beforehand, don’t have any expectations and don’t mind the ML you might still enjoy it!
I was really looking forward to this, I really hope it’s not cancelled 😢 but honestly this comment section is kinda scary, if they are not allowed to show it, it’s obviously the governments fault, not the actor with the „scandal“! So please be angry in the right direction…I‘m still hoping though that it’s really just a technical error, it would be such a waste 🙏
My guess is that it was Kang Ho who broke up with her, since it was shown that she is still angry when thinking about him. He probably wanted to protect her from his revenge plan and didn´t know that she was pregnant. And I think he might have been quite cruel to her when breaking up, so she didn´t tell him about the kids. I don´t think she was ever in the US, that´s just something her Mum made up to tell the neighbours. Poor Mi Joo, I really hope she´ll get a bit of luck soon!
I think Hye Seong told their mother about it because of 3 Reasons: - the mum was so hurt when the siblings didn´t tell her about the house, so she didn´t want to repeat that mistake. - As a sister I think she maybe knew how difficult it would be for Woo Joo to tell her Mum, so she did it instead - Hye Song obviously saw how much Woo Joo likes Dong Jin and she felt really sorry for her (also for hitting her for the wrong reason), so I think she hoped her Mum would have a good solution for the situation (thats what Mums are for, no?). That´s why she was crying and said "What should we do about Woo Joo?"
I don´t think her family is trying to be cruel or unreasonable, I kind of get where they are coming from. They love Woo Joo and want her to be happy and have a normal live, but that would be very hard if she is with Dong Jin. Even if he doesn´t like his mother, she is still his family and they will always be connected. So let´s say his Mother gets very sick or owes alot of Money, Dong Jin would probably have to take care of her. And how difficult would that be for Woo Joo, who is such a loayal person, to have to decide wether to help Dong Jin with his mother cause she loves him.. Also they barely know Dong Jin so they can´t be sure his actually a good person. It would be weird to just be okay with it right away. They will come around though and maybe this is the catalyst that will all of them help heal those old wounds.
Anyways I´m so glad that all of the secrets are finally out of the way! I was so anxious while watching...I´m sure it will be a happy ending, but I hope it will be an unexpected/interesting one.
If the story doesn´t turn around soon, I´ll stop watching. It´s just too depressing to see everybody constantly…
Even though I really-really- really hate the adoptive mother, Cheol Woong, and of course the dad, I kind of get where they are coming from:
The Mother: I don´t think the mother wanted to adopt a child, but she was already married and an heir was needed so she probably had little choice. She wanted to live in the city but her husband forced her to stay in the country. Seeing Doo Hak growing up poor with no help from his family and still do better in school then her son whom she gave everything, must have been really annoying. It would have been proof that her influence achieved the same result as the influence of uneducated farmers wife..
Cheol Woong: I think the adoptive mother made very sure that Cheol Woong was always very aware of Doo Hak. I´m sure she pressured him alot to see Doo Hak as competiton, to make him constantly proof that he´s indeed superior. At the same time Doo Haks parents were overly warm and concerned with Cheol Woong and Doo Hak was always subservient to him (as he was taught by the dad), it must have a been a very confusing relationship. I think the boys never truly liked it each other, but are simply bound by circumstance and how their parents taught them to treat each other. I also think he truly is a gray person as the NIS Agent called him. He tries to be good like his adoptive dad (with the student protests and trying not to betray the protesters), but he always succumbs under pressure, he has never learned to really sacrifice. His mum raised him to be a narcissist and it really shows.
The father: He is definitely a product of his time. His own dad probably made sure to teach him strictly to repay his "debt" to the rich family. He is in such a complicated situation that has no precedent he can follow, so he goes by he only value and rule he knows. He is also working man that has never been taught how to express his emotions or compassion, and he clearly struggles with his inabilty to find better solutions ro even communicate better. It´s super frustrating to watch but I hope the writers will let him grow beyond his servant role and finally do right by his family, that would be so satisfying to watch.
If the story doesn´t turn around soon, I´ll stop watching. It´s just too depressing to see everybody constantly stomp on Doo Hak and no injustice is ever adressed! There are so many story lines here, that I´m afraid they won´t have the time to give every story a deserving ending.
But I have to say that the characters are very well written and fleshed out. Please enjoy my Essay below : 😅
can anyone recommend any kdramas that are just like this , melo but heart racing. I can only find just between…
Maybe not an obvious choice, but I also think that "Do You Like Brahms?" has a similar mood (even though the storyline and characters are quite different). It´s not for everyone though... Same for "The one and only", I didn´t finish this one but what I saw also has this special kind of melo vibe. Also maybe "Find Me in Your Memory". It´s already in the recommendations, but I really think "A Piece of Your Mind" ,"Just between lovers", "The smile has left your Eyes", "Liberation Notes" and "When the weather is fine" fit this drama quite well!
If not for the public declarations of love and everything else, I would have given it a 10/10, I hate those kind of scenes with all my heart 😩 but that´s just me... The rest was amazing! Mi Ran is my new favorite Character! The Chemistry between the Leads was amazing and I really liked the side characters. And the humor was really well done, it had me smiling from ear to ear for most of episodes (until all the News and press conference scenes: whyyyy). I´m also glad that the law firm bros turned out to be fun! And how cute that it was a bit of a "Money Heist" Reunion 🥰
It was the one the Crazy Guy showed to the Maid - I think he said he had helped them get rid of their bug problem or smth… it was a really short scene ☺️
What a first episode! I don´t mind that it was fast paced, it was exciting and intense and now I can´t wait to watch the next episodes🤩 I already love the FL and her Maid - well written female characters are alwasy such a treat. Even though the storyline is not super original (at least for now) BUT it doesn´t feel cliché or predictable at all. I hope they can keep it up for 20 Episodes , most K-Dramas start to drag around Ep-12 🙏 Also: the cinematography and music is 🧑🍳🤌*chef's kiss*, it feels expensive in a good way. Alot of comments mention AOS and Forbidden Love, and while I liked both, I really like that this is not half comedy, the funny parts in K-Drama are always such a hit and miss (f not bordeline jarring) for me. Anyways, sorry for the long comment, but I´m really excited about this one!
