Haha! Three years later and we are still hoping the messed up Chinese entertainment industry will deliver a satisfying sequel! Six years ago when I stumbled upon C&K dramas I was so impressed by the artistry, the music, the beautiful sets & costumes, the interesting cinematography, soap opera plots and the pretty people. I really don’t watch American TV or movies anymore. Unfortunately, the nasty underbelly of the enterprise has been revealed—an industry corrupted by the totalitarian CCP. The murder of Alan Yu and the fact that the crime was swept under the rug demonstrates the callus essence & evil that taints the art. I worry for the safety of the innocent actors and know that many are living on a knife edge.

This was in 2019. Yes, he got poked in the eye during a sword stunt - his contact lens shattered & his eye was bleeding. You can find the clips online. The doctors told him he couldn't move his face in any normal way until it healed, or he would permanently damage his eye! Since he could not see well after that - he could not wear the contacts - for the rest of the filming he was put in a difficult position. And I do suppose that you know that Alan Yu was killed this past September (2025) at the age of 37??

I'm sure part of that is the interpretation of the character. The other problem is that he was badly injured in the eye during the filming of this drama.

Likely not! because it deals with the national team, I suspect that the ending was problematic and offended some CCP officials in charge of censorship.
