Dictatorships? Where? You mean the world at large right? As in, even so called democracies? Artists the world over are maligned and discredited in so called democracies, so let's not label dictatorships as predominantly being in China's landscape as that's a false analogy especially in view of what we are all witnessing geopolitically across the planet!

Episode 61, what an absolute mess! I must say that Marie’s “other” family including her great aunt, the son-in-law, her mum’s cousin and her mum’s so-called close friend are such vile human beings! Money doesn’t solve the issue of jealousy! To think such an awful man could potentially be her father is possibly the most heartbreaking shock for Marie. And how she discovers this is so deplorable!

Jealousy is one of the most destructive energies on the planet!

Young lady you are so talented! They are trying to scare you with a blacklist! It will only backfire!
Find a gate keeper/ bull dog lawyer and remove yourself from any contract that is hell bent on using you and tying you in financially.

Become independent and start your own agency. There will already be people around that you trust or whom your fellow veteran actors can reccommend that you can employ to work for you directly. Employ a lawyer to manage all your contracts and to go with you to any contract meetings, that way the industry will stop messing youngsters about.

I cant believe this is still going on in 2025, In this day and age, there is no need to be in a ‘ slave contract ‘ - that agency’s CEO belongs in prison! And if all the young actors and actresses revolt and turn on their slave contracts, this will be the end of them!

She didnt want to be in the public eye on display. That was my reading of the female lead’s situation. Look at how that display part of her adopted mother’s life, almost costs the llife of her grand daughter🤷🏽‍♀️

However the Korean entertainment industry is rather scared of them and I must say, it's a huge problem! Korea needs to sort out its cyber bullying and hearsay laws! Some of the commenters on MDL are a good example of this kind of awful trolling, without actual evidence or fact.

Lee Sun Kyung a fantastically talented actor that died by suicide in 2023 because of such nonsense, is a clear example of this and it's very depressing and a real setback for his family. He was investigated about a false drug claim. These are the sorts of stories that tell me that the agencies' which earn so much money from these amazing stars are completely FAILING in their DUTY OF CARE towards their clients! The true fans are the ones that support their 'idols' through thick and thin, not through every gossip mongering silliness that is aimed at destroying careers. I know there are genuine cases, however when it's Netizen gossip or peer jealousy, I'm sorry, I can't even begin to believe it!

I come back to this drama often and I agree with you, this is one of the most under-rated kdrama's of all time!!! I love the Satire, the music, the cinematography and the suspense elements. Character development is so interesting and this eternal waging of war that the older generation constantly fight against the young is what fascinates me always in reality and in fantasy.

Personally, I think the Grand father is fine! He is biding his time.The shock of realising that someone you love has betrayed you and tried to kill you is enough to send anyone around the bend/twist 🤷🏽‍♀️ I just feel there is something quite bitter waiting to unravel about the mother and son duo
