I can see that you dropped the drama at ep3 and I bet you also dropped his dramas at early episodes which is why you said he's boring, you dropped before his character move into any development, if you like the kind of LBFD then you might not be Xu Kai's kind of character dev type of stories, you like fast pace stories. And that's okay, there is plenty of characters and dramas that can fit individual taste to share around, just that XK's style might not be to your taste.

So yeah I am very confident with my taste because it's very authentic and always avoid plastic drama like Feud and moonlight Mystique. So yeah you will never like a xu kai drama because you like to watch hype drama it soothes your heart to like something majority of people like.

Yeah Tian Xiwei carried the drama hard, I love how she felt more wronged about the demon as a young 18 years experience as cat demon and wanted to vengeance hard on her own husband more ruthlessly than other demon who has been demon and wronged their hundreds of whole life. Tian Xiwei should win an Oscar for this role, she had to tow a whole plane. Xu Kai is worthless and should be changed to other actor then maybe this drama will get more popular. He is so overrated, I mean pfft he has zero acting talent, that anyone who praise his acting need to check their eyes. They must've poor judgement of acting. I mean look at the contrast Mei. Zhuyu as a monk, he should have more expressions, more interesting personality, xu kai should have portrayed him more lively and interesting eventhough he is a monk, look at how talented tian Xiwei is potraying a vibrant demon cat.

And Yang Hua helping Qin Shi with the report, the way they greet each other as strangers is still polite. Yes I enjoyed it. It's a good break from stupid and unrealistic behavior usually portrayed in other cdramas like this. It actually tackle life issues that is relatable. The leads don't banter for no reason. When they have issues they will actually address it directly with each other and sit down to talk about it maturely. The jokes are subtle and well place none of that "hey its funny part here". Rather than oh this character is tragic because his life is tragic or pity her lost her chance to do something due to unfortunate things just to dramatized the drama, this drama initiated realistic situation within family, that contributes to how the leads is the way they are and be the reason why the match each other. Oh yeah the leads don't hate each other for no reason. They are actually very polite as both were strangers before becoming closer. A properly built up character with proper issues to deal with which I found very engaging and pleasant to follow.

Its refreshing to see a drama that portrays mature couple argument for once. They banter always so honest and even whe things got serious they still deal with it rationally rather than having shouting match or dramatic scenes. And it's in line with their character design too.

And they are still bodyshaming him in the show. Apparently he is not skinny enough.

I agree with most of what you said, and I understand if you don't agree with my views about love might fades, I speak from real life observation, My male colleague, whom his children he always brings to office, always so cute interacting with us and always a pleasure to watch over them should their father need to go to toilet etc and whose wife also we know well, but their marriage ended because both fell out of love and in love with another person. Very impressed with the drama so far. It's one of the rare mature script that I've seen. My fav part of the drama so far is how honest Qin Shi and Yang Hua is with each other about their opinion on issues or other things and if their views are contrast and can be said the words are harsh, it can be seen both are mature adults and can deal with the other party honest opinion and not taking it too personally and reacted immaturely. Both can take in a harsh words and agree to disagree which for me is the key to a good marriage, love can fades over time, but trust and sense of security with each other's partner is what makes ones marriage can really work. You don't have to worry about saying the wrong thing or do the wrong thing. So I think the way these character are written is really excellent in setting them on the path of ending up together without it being a typical trope of being "forced" together. So far both are willing, regardless in what form of "willingness" it is. IMO a very creative twists in using the the tired trope of contract marriage.

For me personally ALP is very good. not going to state any points to compare against WOH because its a completely different type of drama but ALP really delivered high quality production and acting overall that it left a lingering feelings.
