The Promise fell a little short for me for some reason maybe because I had just watched TOW. Also Seo Joon Young’s character could’ve been so much better than just a pathetic whiner. If you’re going to backstab and abandon someone then you should own it. He needed to grow a pair.

My benchmark for daily dramas (melodrama & makjang) has been the OG “TEMPTATION OF WIFE.” I’ve not watched anything that can match the outlandish liars and schemers. But in the modern era I think Queen’s House is very good at scratching that itch. But even so, as someone put it, the reveals have been tame so far. I’m still hoping for a glorious takedown of Seri.

That’s what I saw. His character is historical but except for being a “clown” i.e. entertainer, and close to the king, his character’s actions are all fictional so I can’t guess what’s happening.
Honestly I was surprised by that reveal. But it makes sense that he’d be against a tyrant king who probably killed his family or friends. Does that make him a bad guy?
