Title A Little Thing Called First Love
correct me if I seem like I'm talking out my butt, but in the makeover ep, they actually address the standards of beauty that are prevalent in China. like they ask "what's the beauty standard for hair and skin", and then they say the traditional and mainstream standards of beauty. in my sense, they acknowledge that these are a few standards of beauty in china. like they know it's an upheld standard but still choose to follow it cuz it's so common. like many countries have a problem with colorism and texturism(judging of how kinky, coily, or straight someone's hair is) so everyone can relate to how they might change themselves a little to seem more with the in-crowd. however, I still wish they didn't at least try and change and also change her skin tone. she was cute from the beginning but u know she had the awkwardness and messiness of a typical teenage girl. many teens get braces and contacts and prim up. like I've relaxed(chemical straightener) my hair before so I can't judge someone for doing it but skin tone is another thing. they should've left her tan. people still liked her even before the makeover so she should've just grown her curly hair longer, like it was for a while, and dressed better. like I know I cant pick at another country's standards cuz ours aren't any better but yeah, I just wanted her skin tone to at least stay.
