I am a fan of angry proud little girls whose ears stick out. Even or maybe especially the evil ones. She brings…
It's not the actual character ithat bothers me, It's the portrayal of that character. Not a single shred of emotion, or even an eyebrow twitch, shown at all, even when her love rejected her.
The 2FL may have redemption. There is meaning in the four way grab with the sword.
At the moment, I really hope not. I can't stand her character and wouldn't like that everything is forgiven and she gets a happy ending. She's tried to kill the Crown Prince, gain power and also tried to harm/kill Dali. It's going to take a lot of redemption to get over that.
After 4 episodes I'm hooked. The acting from most of the cast, especially Kang TaeOh and Kim Sejeong is truly exceptional. The cinematography and OST is perfect. However, I'm bothered by the 2FL. I understand that her character is basically evil, not sure I've seen such a totally expressionless face and monotone voice. I haven't seen her expression change once- not for anger, not for sadness, nothing. I've never seen such a complete lack of expression regardless of the scene and script. And I'm not entirely sure that it's just acting on her part or whether she was cast on that role because it's natural. Apologies, no offence meant to her fans.
The worst choice for a female lead; she has an unattractive look when trying to be funny. SFL is so much prettier…
That's your opinion, which you're entitled to. However, the biggest part of what makes a drama successful is the acting, not just looks. IMO, Kim Sejeong can act in any genre and look attractive. Many can't. Some scenes aren't meant to show attractiveness, they're supposed to show the skill of the actor.
The synopsis makes it look like a Hallmarkish drama, but that's not what makes me stand back, no, what makes me…
If you're not sure about how she can handle a role like that, you should watch her in Uncanny Counter. She's extremely versatile and can handle action, suspense and emotions.
It's going to take a lot of redemption to get over that.
