Low birth rate in Korea, caused by a 'perfect storm' of societal imbalances, is a serious issue for Korea, and Koreans. Easing the pressures of prospective parents is not a game. It's a responsible effort by government to help make having children feasible for those who would like to be parents, but are daunted by societal limitations.

Of course, the individual societal imbalances causing the difficulties must be addressed too, for long term national stability - but it's a start, and an admirable one. Korea, and Koreans, didn't come this far, through the fires of hell, just to dwindle away into oblivion as a result of low birth rate. Every new spark of life in Korea is cause for celebration, and I wish the happy couple every joy and success with their very precious little bundle of love.

Yes, it's very disappointing. He was doing quite well at the time.

He was single at the time, so as far as I can determine, he was free to date whomever he wanted to. Actually, putting legality to one side, there is a moral argument to make, saying that if you are NOT looking for a relationship, it's more honest to pay for your 'entertainment' straight up, rather than start something with an innocent person who might get attached to you, and get hurt. I'm not at all interested in what two consenting adults get up to. None of my business.

Yes! - and JJM was actually punished, ultimately, for being the victim of a crime, and for standing up to the criminals. I can't wait to see him get back to work!! Several times I've thought of him, and felt absolutely gutted at the prospect of his career possibly being over. I'm glad that's not going to be the case!

Nobody should lose their career because they offended someone. Please send us a list of all the awesome dramas you have had the lead role in, so we can compare your accomplishments with his.

I think the real scandal is that he was punished for not giving in to criminals. What steps were taken to ensure the texts were genuine, and completely in context? No details of the investigation were ever revealed. People are human, and we all do stupid shit. Nobody was hurt - at worst someone may have been offended. So what?
Nobody deserves to lose their career over it. I'm so glad he's back - and wish him the best of luck!!

We lose many good actors, and so much precious talent through careers, and in the case of Lee Sun Kyun his very life, being cut short, by the harsh Neo-Confucianist expectations you so rightly call out. 👍🏼
