How could being blind to the one truth, (which is the emperors heart has belonged to her all along) change everything?
I wonder about that too. Perhaps them being together is a bad look for the emperor, implying he organised the exams for women just to get her into the palace. And so the court may go against them, blame them for being immoral or something. But idk, just guessing
Just finished the last episode. This drama was great - 10/10. I liked the actors, the characters, the styling and costumes, the story, pasing, OST, all of it. It kept up the pacing and my attention for all 28 episodes. Amazing! One of the top dramas of 2026 for me so far
In my opinion - yes, very much so! At least up to ep 22
I think i understand. For me, some get boring so i either start skipping parts of it half-way through, or drop the whole drama. Happened with a few of them already this year, and ones i was really looking forward to.
Haven't skipped a second of this one though, i hope they keep it up for the final 6 eipsodes as well!
After 22 episodes, i give up on Li Mao. Even if he changes back to normal and tries to redeem himself, i hope they don't get back to being friends or even friendly, just cold professional relationship at most. The way he smiled before stabbing Xiao Wuyi in prison. He cannot be trusted, ever. The story is so good, but only 6 episodes left π
Yeah that was sudden π but with how fast paced the drama is, it makes sense they had to have a time skip. The reform and MLs illness both need to progress fast for the story to continue
Finally, done watching, i already miss them, especially zhang haixia πππ, even losing the calm haixia…
Love you seven times was my favorite Ding Yuxi drama up until Haixia showed up and stole my heart, and then broke it into pieces π i had to re-watch Love you seven times just to get over it, although the god of war didn't have the happiest ending there either..
πππ but seriously, apart from shooting his butt to save him, she also tried to save those women and protect him with his sword. That was very brave and admirable, probably enough to impress the guy
I have to appreciate the competition and the hug scene in episode 10. The fight on horses was beautifully filmed (even though it defies the laws of physics, which one must accept once you get into cdramas π ). And the hug afterwars was so sweet, sincere and natural. I loved how they ran to each other without any second thoughts, smiling with pure joy, celebrating their successful collaboration (perhaps that's what the first consort meant when she said couples become each others joy and sorrow, but the FL doesno't undrstand it yet?). I rewinded the whole scene multiple times!
In general, not aimed at this specific scene, but i always though that in any drama, a good hug can express the relationship and form emotional connection with viewers better than an akward kiss.
I love love love the gradual relationship development. Finally a drama that doesn't just go "here, they are…
I agree, the pacing is great! Zero seconds skipped for the first 10 episodes, not a boring moment so far. With only 28 episodes total, i guess they should be able to keep it up for the whole drama
Amazing start! The beginning of the first episode was intense. I like the friendship between male leads, and the funny bickering between the lead couple. Every episode is interesting so far!
haiyan said all orphans kid from southern archives were on their right (if I'm not mistaken) so haixia too
I think he said all of them have some sort of mutation. And for Hailou it is his heart on the right side. For Haixia, the only one i can recall is his sense of smell.
I said I wasn't going to watch after Ep28 but I did. And to me, it was an OE. When Haixia killed Haiqi, she had…
I might be wrong, but the way i understood it, Haixia fooled the Dark Shrimpie into thinking he took over completely, so that at the crucial moment real Haixia could come out and flip the blade. I don't think he took the medicine. However, I could see a potential solution here. Hailou clearly saw the memory of the medicine, so he may have immediately come up with a plan to also play along and "kill" Haixia, but actually just knock him out to later give the medicine. But that's just my wishful thinking..
The thought that Haixia did everything in secret and just protects secretly hurts me π it's so lonely not to…
Yes extremely lonely. The way he tried to end it himself after his original mission, when he wrote to Hailou that his next mission will last for 30 years so they can't meet π And he struggled like that till the very end. It's just too tragic and unfair to him
Omg thatβs exactly how I felt π . Bandit chief got the best ending while she did all that in her right mind…
Exactly. They showed the cure in mentor's hand for so long as well, to make it very clear it exists. Just to ignore it at the end. Ugh, it's so annoying
Haven't skipped a second of this one though, i hope they keep it up for the final 6 eipsodes as well!
The story is so good, but only 6 episodes left π
