Wow, I had the same idea as you did! Han Hyo Joo would have been perfect for the role. its ironic, but Kim Yoo Jung played the younger version if Han hyo Joo twice: once in iljimae and other in Dong Yi. They are the perfect younger-older role duo! Han Ga In- I didnt like her acting and she didnt match KSH on screen. So yeah, it was a big dissapointment on the casting part for her role..

yeah I don't like his dad at all. He is a coward. First he was scared to return HEJ to his mom b/c he thought they replaced him or something and he was probably scared of all the repercussions. Now he is scared to fight Tae Ha directly so he makes a young guy who is about to become a father do his dirty work for him.

You're right! HEJ character transition doesn't make much sense. Although, it could have been due to how cold his dad treated him all these years. We know why, but he doesn't, so it made HEJ feel like he was an unwanted child in his father's eyes, so he became distant. I wonder if this sounds plausible. I seriously hope for some killer smiles soon, it's the only reason I'm watching this drama, for Kim Jae Won's smile ^_^

And yeah, there is so much angst so far and I hope the plot moves a bit faster now. 10 episodes have already past, yet we didn't get to the confrontation with his dad that we saw in episode 1 before we jumped into the past. I wonder when it will finally happen.

There were spoilers leaked online a few wk ago which said sooha is supposed to die in the end. I heard they aren't going with that anymore, so I'm kind of glad it was leaked in this case XD

XD yeah so true. An example of someone who is very good at that knd of role is probably Joo Won. He can show a very wide range of emotions without actually showing any emotion. (Actually, I think he can do any role :) Both Gaksital and Ojakgyu brothers proved the amazing extent of his acting abilities)
Kim Hyun Joong just looks blank to me sometimes.... Like in Boy over flowers he was supposed to change towards the end because of JanDi (except she didn't like him anymore, it was too late, as it always is for the second main lead). As for Playful kiss... I really really REALLY can't help compare his acting to Mike He and well.... KHJ wouldn't even come close. *Stares Blankly*:"I like you". I don't know why I watched that drama. Maybe I hoped that he would really show some emotions towards the end, but nope.....

So far so good. I just hope they switch to adults soon. 4 episodes of so much angst and crying I want to move on. Too sad ;(

Ow. Well at least, Kdramas dont get cancelled, unlike so many US shows, and I hope that Heartless City doesnt get shortened or anything, it's so goddamn good, it has me hooked on every minute!

I dont think thats true for cable dramas. It only applies to SBS, MBC and whatnot. And so many dramas are overrated... Like lee soon shin has 30+ rating and everyone is still watching it even thought the plot was completely idiotic for 20+ episodes..... Or how about moon embraces the sun, the most overrated drama of all time? (Just because there is nothing else to watch it got 40-50 rating. Show had good points but definitely wasnt worth a 40-50 rating). Ratings are overrated. And some dramas are underrated while others are overrated. I was not talking about how ratings get things cancelled. I was saying about its so idiotic that networks place so much value in ratings. A lot of good shows get cancelled all because of ratings, it doesnt matter whether the plot is good or not. So yeah, rating are way to overrated.

Wow I watched all of those, except Me too flower. And I totally agree! It's funny, you put 2 out of 5 of my all-time favorite dramas on this list, K2H and Bridal Mask (Also, 5 out of 5 of my favorite actors happen to be mentioned here :)) To me, it seemed that all of the actors fit very well with those dramas. I kind of feel I missed out on Lee Jun Ki playing in Faith, just because I love him more than Lee Min Ho. Also, I wish Kim Jae Won took the role for Me Too Flower, because then I would have definitely watched it. I loved him in "Can You hear my heart?"

I currently got addicted to a new drama, Heartless city, and I can't imagine anyone other than Jung Kyung Ho playing the main lead. He is AMAZING!

He should not be doing the "unemotional guy" roles anymore. I don't know how he would do in a different type of role, but those kind of roles are kind of hard to do well on. There are some actors who can pull those off well, but I don't think he is one of them. He should definitely be doing something different.

I want to think he is lying too, because Safari is just so horrible to his bones he has to be authentic. Then again, that is what I thought of Paksa in first few episodes before the big undercover revelation. My reaction to that whole thing at the end of episode 7 was like: "Is EVERYONE undercover in this drama?" I feel like Safari has the connections to the police but I don't think he is a cop. Maybe a dirty cop? Either way, if Safari is a good guy, what happens to Paksa's revenge for Safari pretty much ruining his mother by selling her drugs? To me it seems like safari was in the drug business since Paksa was a kid. It's a little ridiculous to me that Safari would be undercover for 10-20 years or something. Then again, it wouldn't be too ridiculous considering how much the 8 years have changed paksa while he was undercover. I can't imagine someone doing this for longer than 10. Besides, if Safari was undercover for so long, why did he reveal himself to Hyung Min and Paksa at the same time? I keep feeling it makes more sense that it is a trick he is just using to get himself out of a difficult situation.

Omg I love the soundtrack! And episode 8 was awesome, as expected!

I wish the writing was better for this drama..... So much stuff fits in place just because the writers said so, and as if the characters have no motivation of their own. I liked the parents story a lot more. It is so much more memorable. Or maybe im not a fan of silly puppy love.

21 and 22 were pretty good. I prefer the angle that the southern party are incompetent fools that couldnt protect Ok Jung. Id rather have the story be how the king had no other choice rather than him doing it willingly. But yeah, choi sukbin and her smirks are sooooooo irritating!
