Recalling what happened in The Moon That Embraces The Sun, maybe we should expect something similar? Maybe someone…
^This is hillarious but that is exactly what I was thinking. In the meantime I kept thinking that a lot of anger and hatred from the protagonist's wife (in both moon embraces the sun // shine or go crazy) could be ultimately avoided if he would just sleep with her. It's been five years! Are they trying to tell us he is a monk?
I doubt it.
I just feel like this whole marriage consummation issue is extremely overused... When Shin Yeol learned he had a wife, wouldn't she have automatically assumed that they have in fact consummated their marriage? That was kinda my assumption too. I honestly think writer-nim put that "unconsummated marriage" thing later into the plot to add more angst for our OTP. It is very annoying and I think it should not even have been part of the plot in the first place.
Honestly, it isn't very believable. If the prince and the princess were 10 years old when they got married, I get it. But they got married as adults and didn't have to consummate their marriage even once? Totally unbelievable.
my life: rewatching healer *food break* updating healer blogs on tumblr *bathroom break* rewatching healer *another…
I had a double full 20 episode marathon in 2 days. Needless to say I had to speed through boring stuff the second time but yeah I rly find it hard to move on. I'm also drugged by the OST. Keep re-listening and re-singing "Eternal Love" all the time.
This is the second time I am attempting to watch this drama and both times I gave up around episode 13. I can't finish. Something is definitely off. I love LJK to death but I just can't seem to like it enough to finish, maybe I will just go read recaps for last 7 episodes.
watched 9/10. The only drama on this list that I did not watch is secret love. As for the rest, I did not enjoy second half of empress KI (7/10 loved/hated the drama overall. I expected more than what I got. If second half was just as good as first half, I'd give it a higher rating). I got bored with second half of Gu Family Book (7/10 It just wasn't as memorable to me. I don't really like Suzy's acting.)
10/10 I hear your voice - absolutely loved it! Watched it twice already.
9/10 Who came from stars - was good.
9/10 Master's Sun - also good. Ghosts were kinda creepy!
9/10 Two Weeks - not much romance but so much cuteness! And Its Lee Jun Ki. If you visit my page, he is my all time favorite actor so I am very biased.
9/10 Cruel City - loved all the way to the end. And then....hated the end. so kind of spoiled it for me. I prefer time of dog and wolf to this drama honestly.
10/10 Nine times time travel - I loved time travel paradox in this drama, so this drama was very highly enjoyable to me. LOVED IT! I want to watch it again some time.
10/10 King's daughter - the acting was superb. And although some of the episodes felt draggy (I skipped most scenes of the court officials plotting), I felt it was an amazing story, like something from a dream or a fantasy. Episodes are only 30 min long so 108 episodes is actually not too long. I felt they should have left an extra 2 episodes of wrap up. Last episode felt super rushed. But story was great!
Overall my own rating of best to worst would be:
I hear your voice > Nine times time travel > Baek soo hyang > Cruel City = Two Weeks >Who came from stars > Master's Sun > Empress Ki >Gu Family Book
Remember, I loved most of these dramas and rated none of them below 7/10, so worst of this list doesn't mean worst to me. I actually checked my list and rated Gu family book 6/10 after I watched it. I'm not even sure why.
As for Secret Love, I will put it on my to be watched list :)
urgh.... should add Tragedy to genre. I am super depressed. I just finished it. I both hated and loved it. Honestly I was super upset at how they portrayed the emperor towards the second half. They should have made him grow up. He started as a brat, which was fine. He was doing well for a bit, which was great...and then went downhill from there with the drinking and all after the 5 year jump. I think the story should have just ended with El Temur and Tanashiri's deaths. Everything after that was excessive and utterly upsetting. I honestly think the emperor would not have believed those letters between wang yu and nyang. It was way out of character. He was a strong character at that time and the 5 year jump is what ruined the show towards the end for me. I think he would have investigated the letters instead of holding it in for 5 years. Its just unrealistic how he "intercepts" letters without asking how or why. That time jump was completely stupid and made no sense other than to speed up the plot. I feel bad for the actor who had to act that role. I feel like the writer was changed after episode 20-30ish or so. Second half of the show was just makjang to me. The only reason I kept watching was cause ta hwan is such an eye candy >:3
Either way, I think actors did a great job with what they got... I just don't like what they got...
ratings dropped because of the ending... I don't like open endings either. I prefer things neatly wrapped up.…
Misunderstanding and no, not attacking, I was only explaining what I meant by it. Sorry if it seemed that way ^_^
Anyways, I guess we agree on the fact that the ending wasn't great. The show was really awesome throughout. And aha! This is like the only kdrama I have seen with a real bedscene! It seemed like something more for channels like HBO, not prudish Kdramas!

no link. I am talking about MDL ratings. My rating was a 10 before. Now it is a nine. If that happened for a bunch of people, I can see why it went 9.12->8.97. Not that big of a change. This is my opinion how it went. 49 days had a crap ending and if not for the ending, I would have given it a 10.
It's about getting closure. I didn't get a closure for a show I liked - so I am pissed thus I rated it lower than I did originally, 10 minutes or not, they are very important when expectations are high. The ending wasn't my thing. If it was yours - good for you.
gigantic tearjerker, finished drama in 1 day. Cried every step of the way to episode 16. Yoo Seung Ho is an amazing actor! Reminds me a lot of quantum leap for some reason, even the music at the end of every episode felt quantum leapy, which made me very nostalgic :)
I doubt it.

Fav dramas: Time between Dog and Wolf and Iljimae :)
So far, also loving Two Weeks

EDIT: I mean MDL ratings are dropping, probably because people revisiting their ratings and making them lower bcuz of ending.
Love it so far!
Amazing actor! He pulled the entire "Operation Proposal" on his shoulders it felt like! LOVE LOVE LOVE his acting!
