if the writers don’t let the mother redeem herself, it will be so disappointing :( the characters do sometimes…
Unfortunately, in real life, it can be incredibly challenging for people to change their character, thought patterns, and habits. This difficulty is especially pronounced when a person is unaware of or indifferent to the negative impact their behavior has on others. Without recognizing the need for change, individuals may remain resistant to transformation. However, given that hope springs eternal, I am quite hopeful that the drama will end with some positive changes with the FL's mom, especially, with the mother-daughter relationships.
I appreciated how YZM was candid and came clean with MCH about his original business intentions for returning to China. His connection and commitment with his lady boss were also revealed, and it was heartwarming to see MCH appreciate his sincerity. In another scene, YZM bravely confessed his love to her, although he hesitated a bit to manage her initial shock. Additionally, YZM moved into the Villa where Mei’s family stays, and it seems that all the initial obstacles in his romantic pursuit have been cleared. I’m eagerly looking forward to more romantic moments in the upcoming episodes!
this is my first Xukai drama and I have to say that YZM has become my favorite character. He has struggles I really…
Welcome to Xu Kai's drama world. He is an excellent and versatile actor. For some reasons I cannot comprehend, his dramas are underrated in China. Yet, in my book, they were excellent works that can be at par with some of notable Korean dramas. The list includes Arsenal Military Academy, a Republican era drama, so, it's a period drama, a real good one that made me fall for Xu Kai for the first time! Gu Yanzhen (in the Arsenal Military Academy), Li Ni (in the Wonderland of Love), and Lu Si Cheng (in Falling int your Smile) are my most favorite Xu Kai's characters and dramas so far.
These dramas showcase Xu Kai’s versatility and ability to bring characters to life. Whether it’s historical settings, military conflicts, or the world of e-sports, Xu Kai’s performances have left a lasting impression on viewers. If you haven’t watched these dramas yet, they’re definitely worth adding to your watchlist!
He's definitely acting as the character background demands, i don't find any flaw..If you ship Yang zi with tan…
I am also enjoying Xu Kai's acting in this drama. He’s immersed in his role and is doing exceptionally well. Having come from abroad, one can feel him a little lost in this new world in his country, especially upon meeting the FL who has a great impact on him. The way he looks at her conveys silently the perplexities inside him. Even his grandma sensed a subtle change in his demeanor, now detecting a ‘human’ element in her grandson that was not there before. This transformation is significant, and Xu Kai was able to express all these confusions, albeit silently and effectively. Moreover, the role of the ML is not meant to be a dark character; rather, he has to portray a cold and stiff exterior because of lack of genuine care and love. Yet, beneath that facade lies a softness that can be touched by the importance of relationships. As he discovers the warmth of these connections (for the first time perhaps), particularly with his grandma and the FL, the ML realizes what is most important to him more than business. In short, Xu Kai skillfully embodies and portrays what the role demands.
Wuxia and fantasy are not my favorite genres. But because it stars Xu Kai and the latest trailers looked so good, I am now so excited, can't wait to watch this! Bring it on . . .
Considering that I am not from China, I am a living example of Xu Kai's universal appeal. For the longest time…
Hi! I like several KDrama actors but I don't follow any of them in particular, not in the same way I do follow Xu Kai. I have difficulty memorizing foreign names, especially of KDrama actors. To me, their names sounded the same. But top of mind among KDrama actors to me are Lee Joon-gi and Hyun Bin. Joon-gi's Arthdal Chronicle 2, the Sword of Aramun is epic. Bin's Crash Landing on You is memorable. I don't remember the name Seo In Guk. But when I looked him up, I found out I had watched him already in Doom at Your Service and Shopping King Louie. He's also a good actor I suppose because I was able to complete watching two of his dramas. I dropped certain dramas that didn't sustain my interest.
I saw comments that XK won three awards:1. most popular actor abroad2. most charming (with Jing Tian)3. most anticipated…
Considering that I am not from China, I am a living example of Xu Kai's universal appeal. For the longest time and until now I've been an avid fan of Kdramas, nothing on Cdrama, but when I saw Xu Kai in his drama Arsenal Military Academy, I since then was captivated by his acting, looks, and overall charisma. That's when I started following his dramas and news about him on social media; he's the only artist that I devote time to follow. That's a very well-deserved award for Xu Kai.
I really don't understand that every Chinese drama has some annoying characters just like this drama But I don't…
Annoying characters has to be part of any story because that's how real life is and they usually provide the conflict that has to be resolved by the leads in a drama. Without these quirky characters, the leads won't shine as much, and the story would be monotonous and boring. Imagine, a la la la or fantasy land without the sorcerer or some evil character! Thus, antagonists play a pivotal role and serve a particular purpose in any drama, imagined or real. The more they challenged the leads, the more effective and impactful the confrontations and resolutions are, and the more is the impact on the viewers as well. Thus, such timeless formula has succeeded once again as in WOL.
I don't like the main actor, Xu Kai. He always failed to show his emotions, his face looked flat without soul..…
No amount of negativity can diminish the brilliance of Xu Kai, a truly gifted and versatile actor. He shines more brightly in WOL. His incredibly expressive eyes serve as a unique and enviable asset, setting him apart from his peers in the acting realm.
In ep 16 I was smiling the whole time, cuilin words were so cruel and meant to hurt lini since she was hurting…
I agree 100%. Li Ni here has a very stable EQ and high IQ. He's so free in acting out what he feels at the moment, be it joy or intense grief, love or hate. He can be carried away by the emotion but only momentarily since he bounces back in due time and can think well again accordingly and decisively. He knows what he wants (for himself, for FL, and the nation) and can be very patient is awaiting its fulfillment. A true and worthy hero for any drama. And his character is complemented well by the FL. They knew, they were meant for each other, no one else can come between them. WOL writers brought to life main characters that were truly amazing and so delightful to watch! Xu Kai's acting was on point and highly commendable! He made me shed tears. Kudos!
This drama's main focus is romance. The fighting/war is backdrop. They basically flirting from beginning and not…
The chemistry between the leads is off the charts. Yet, their romance is not the typical lovey-dovey nor the tweetums type. Though there's so much sweetness between them and sincerity in their love, yet, theirs is a romance between two intelligent, witty, accomplished, strong-willed, as well as politically and militarily oriented individuals.
Then you should watch especially eps 30 and 31 where Xu Kai's excellent and heartbreaking acting palpably stood…
Obviously, their romantic story is saddled by many pressing political considerations and beset with the rules and realities of their era, and personal struggles given their differing and oftentimes clashing style. It is an imperfect love story of an imperfect couple against a particular turbulent political backdrop in history. And that made the romantic part flowed with the overall story, making it more realistically written and just fine with me. But of course you have different expectations that are worth noting.
I watch this for xukai and I only like their fighting scenes but romance scenes are so bad they make me skip ,…
Then you should watch especially eps 30 and 31 where Xu Kai's excellent and heartbreaking acting palpably stood out. His scenes broke my heart too. We should be proud of him. Well done, Xu Kai!
can someone tell me if this drama has the same vibes as Love Like the Galaxy? This is my opinion after watching…
I am not familiar with Love Like the Galaxy. But I've read more than once in this forum that WOL has the vibes of Who Rules the World (I have not watched this as well.) Anyway, as far as I am concerned, WOL is definitely worth watching! It has an engaging storyline and fast-paced, fantastic cinematography, great acting by all the cast, and an excellent chemistry between the leads, among others. Hope this helps.
