The Changxi Celestial Palace is so massive, beautiful, and impressive. Wow! Does it exist in reality, or is it just a cinematic effect? This genre isn't really my style. I only watched it because of Xu Kai, but I am thoroughly enjoying MR. It's a well-made and superbly acted costume drama. Still, I want to see more of Xu Kai's scenes. That's probably wishful thinking since I know the storyline favors the FL even in the novel.

The way he stands by her through all her family drama is just amazing. In the end, it’s really about how they overcome obstacles together with their strong and beautiful love. Shen Run is the ultimate dream—an unwavering commander with both strength and heart, and a devoted lover who knows how to stand by the one he cherishes.

In the novel I read, Shen Run is the head of the palace guard, known as Commander Shen. He wields significant power due to his position and enjoys a strong relationship with the king, serving as a trusted advisor since the king values his opinion on many palace matters. Commander Shen Run is my favorite character in the novel because of his maturity, sincere feelings for the FL, brilliance, firmness as the commander, and charm as a dashing figure lover. Xu Kai fits the character perfectly. Can't wait to see him bring Commander Shen to life.

@whoissilmoy I am relatively new to the Chinese drama world and I was drawn to it just about a year ago thru Xu Kai's Arsenal Military Academy. Aside from his super good looks, I find him to be a versatile and effective actor, and he seems to be very filial and a genuinely nice person. He inspires me. I find the reviews of AvenueX re Xu Kai so weird, slanted, and a bit unfair. I wondered to myself, who is this lady? Is she really influential in the Chinese entertainment industry? I decided to stop watching her reviews, which helped me gain peace of mind. Now I know my hunch was correct. Thanks, your post validated it for me.

Exactly! It is her misinterpretation, distrust, and misaligned expectations that caused her more pain and made her suffer more deeply. Fear and love are always the opposite of each other and in those moments of shocking revelations, JX allowed fear and doubts to lead her in their relationship instead of love and understanding. On the other hand, HT is more mature and loving as a lover but ruthless in business. He always sees the big picture and the interconnecting variables and he has the resources all of which puts him in a better position of control. It is both a honed talent and a gift, a sure formula for business success, but too scary for JX. They were not on the same level.

Sorry if it appears to you that I was not able to acknowledge your point. I just don't want to be redundant in my initial comment. Yet, here again, I will ask for your indulgence, because once more here's my point: whatever you asked of HT (the things he should have done or accept re JX) WHICH I THINK ARE VALID also apply to JK (HT possesses also uniqueness that JX has to accept). It has to work both ways. To me this is just being fair. Don't you agree?

And I never said business has no emotion. You can't pursue and stay in any business for long if you are not passionate about that business. All I say is you can be both passionate about your business and with your love partner (even you are together in the same business or office) at the same time, with good balancing act.

Life is full of conflicting desires and goals, both within ourselves and with others. However, we can thrive and move forward happily if we learn to balance things out. It’s a tall order, I know, but it’s doable. As HT’s grandpa aptly observed, it is their differences that attracted them to each other. But HT was determined to keep going. Thank God, he is. And later JX will also recondier. Ignoring the danger to his life, HT did save JX from the hostage taker. Yes he did and was physically hurt. It came naturally to him, without hesitation, It was not a rational decision at all. At that instant, the question do you love me up to the extent of giving up your life, became irrelevant. I read the novel.

Once HT and JK sort out their own priorities, strengths, and weaknesses as individuals and as partners (both in business and love), they will be able to live a more harmonious relationship and happily ever after. It’s part of growing up and growing together, resolving conflicts. People who are truly in love don’t just surrender to stark differences in status, orientation, perspective and personalities, isn't it?

Just to add my two cents: The same principle applies to JX, not just HT. What applies to one also applies to the other. JX cannot expect business norms to align with her idealism and emotionalism, and vice versa. HT’s professionalism and secrecy/shrewdness in business were risks JX was supposed to have accepted when she fell in love with him. She's been the direct beneficiary of his business maneuverings several times before. What is her problem now? Too much attachment to anything, even if it is her business blood sweat, and tears, is going to be too problematic and a personal burden if not managed well.

Professional and personal lives can be balanced; otherwise, no successful CEO would have a happy love life in real life. A harmonious mix is always possible for open-minded and mature couples. This balance is achieved through mutual understanding and compromise, allowing them to be both professional and deeply involved in a genuine relationship at the same time. Since their feeling of love for each other is genuine and mutual, HT and JX just need some time to fine-tune their respective expectations of themselves and each other. All will be well for our beloved couple since we know the drama has a HE

EBAY": A Wonderful and Entertaining Show

When it comes to the show "EBAY," I've checked it out based on the following criteria:

1. The Story: The blend of medical AI, business start-ups, friendship, and romance makes the story intriguing.
2. Screenplay and Storytelling: So far, there's no dragging or dull moments—the storytelling is well-executed.
3. Acting: The entire cast, especially the leads, delivers top-notch, natural performances.

The long wait for this show has been worth it. It consistently brings a smile to my face, and I eagerly anticipate each new installment. Interestingly, the small screen adaptation fills in some motivational gaps not found in the novel. For one, it made the ML in the drama more human than the stern and more robotic kind in the novel. Kudos to all the artists and creators who poured their heart and soul into this long-awaited modern romance entertainment piece. I agree with the saying that a happy heart sees happiness and highlights the beauty in others instead of the flaws.

Dear Ms or Mr Mooc, labeling this show as a "shit show" is a bit harsh considering that judgement is entirely based on your personal standards, which are unique to you. Generalizing your viewpoint and presenting it as a universal rule is a bit misleading. When someone expresses an opposing view, argues with you, and justifies his or her standpoint, it doesn't imply that she or he is dismissing your opinion. No one is going around your rules. You are free to remain in your "shitty" zone. It simply means that others may react differently and hold contrary perspectives, which they are entitled to. For instance, I find ABAY truly a delightful and enjoyable entertainment because my expectations and satisfaction level differ from yours. Neither of us is inherently right or wrong, and our opinions naturally vary. Respect! 😊

No wonder Han Ting's character is getting so much buzz even before the drama airs. Thanks to the wonderful novel translation by Krish728 I get to have an intro to this intriguing yet captivating character. Despite his almost perfect, proud, and ruthless demeanor, it seems Ji Xing is his weakness, his soft side (?) This is indeed a modern-day romantic and mature drama. So nice! Can't wait for the screen adaptation.

Indeed, I wholeheartedly agree. YZM's character dialogues or scripts were often brief, leaving them hanging and unresolved for me. I wanted to learn and enjoy more seeing him, especially with Yang Zi. But, these moments failed to percolate and evolve into a more intricate storytelling experience with satisfying scenes. In stark contrast, the mother’s lengthy dialogues and extended scenes provided a more immersive and engaging narrative. Ok, she is the main character in the story. However, this disparity left me feeling frustrated on numerous occasions. I wish there would be another drama where Xu Kai and Yang Zi could be the real main focus of the story; and not play the supporting role to the mother or whoever.

Though I'm relatively new to this platform, I quickly realized that the ratings here don't always reflect the true quality and entertainment value of a drama. Ultimately, it's up to each viewer to determine if a drama is worth their time based on their own taste and judgment. In my assessment, this drama deserves a higher rating of at least 8.5 or possibly even higher.

Absolutely, I couldn't agree more! To me, though not perfect, this is a captivating and heartwarming family drama. The gradual development of the lead characters' romance is beautifully portrayed, keeping me eagerly anticipating what unfolds next.
