I keep hearing this show had money problems for costume n stuff that lusi has to step in for it and also ask her…
I don't have info to share, just observations on this : Even before reading this, I thought a lot of the clothes/accessories Lusi is wearing are hers, which is so cool. Some of the bags she's carrying are previous seasons' or truly impossible to find (the yellow Chanel vanity bag for example in ep9, the pink Ganni banner crossbody in ep14 or the Prada small brushed leather tote in alabaster pink in ep10 ) and some are very rare and unique (Like the Hermés Herbag 50 travel bag she's wearing in ep 19).
BUT WHY THE ML'S HOUSE ALWAYS LOOK SO DUSTY AND DIRTY!!! CLEAN YOUR WALLS KING
I know but it's the desired effect the set designer was aiming for I guess, the worn out/distressed/rustic walls are actually made to look this way. I don't get it either. Although this austere/minimal interior (the furniture are quite nice) could be a reflection of the ML's personality/struggles etc..
Fashion info for anyone interested by noticing Lusi's style in the drama : ep 8, karaoke bar scene, she's holding the Prada Cleo brushed leather mini bag in alabaster pink ep 9, university scene, she's wearing the Gucci Bamboo 1947 mini top handle bag in black leather
I totally agree, I was shocked that she's supposedly 14 as I was certain she's 8-10. The character itself is not…
Wait a minute! I believe my comment was taken out of proportion and misunderstood.
To make things clear, I, in no way insinuated that the 17 yr old character should be doing anything untoward with Duan Jaxiu at that age. All I said was, at 17 I found strange the tantrums and pouting (antics), so because she likes a guy who is older, perhaps she’d (the character) try to tone it down in an attempt to be more mature.
There was a comment below that said, “and what, she becomes an adult overnight?” I guess we get a glimpse of the development in terms of maturing in the next episode or so.
Btw, Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet was written in late 16th century !! Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet was with Leonardo Di Caprio and Claire Danes who was 17 when filming. I think you mean when Portman was in Léon.. But these are beyond my point.
Also, I was not dissing Lusi! I love Lusi! She’s amazing and she does an amazing job. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to reply.

You might need to flag your response as a spoiler as I haven't reached that episode yet. I'm only on episode 6. I'm glad there is development though. I always take into account cultural differences and I myself have studied away from my home country so I have met a lot of 17-18 yr olds from all over the world. I am European and I assure you, I never watched a "bossy CEO with ravished secretaries" drama as a teenager but also never liked them as an adult either. My point is up until episode 6, the childish antics are a bit too much. I'm glad it changes.

Becoming a shy 17yr old perhaps but continue to be childish at 17 is a bit far fetched.. That's the beauty of the teenage years, so many things happen in a span of 3 years! Everything is condensed! Change is the operative word! Perhaps, she continues her antics in front of the family for the sake of it and because they dote on her, but even her dad tells her to be more mature. However, when it comes to liking someone older, at that age, you just aspire to behave like an adult or closer to an adult. And that's why it doesn't feel natural to me that the antics continue. I guess the point is to distinguish between the teenager self and the later, university student self.. People might say I am too pedantic but I am so invested in this as I love Lusi and this drama's potential 🙏
I’ve no complaints bout the drama apart from one, Sang zhi’s childhood actress is way too young for a 14 year…
I totally agree, I was shocked that she's supposedly 14 as I was certain she's 8-10. The character itself is not weak at all but the portrayal is contradicting. She's cunning and witty but behaves like a kid overall and although the kid actress has great skills, she's still, very obviously, a kid. Unfortunately, that extends to the now teenager Sang Zhi. The behaviour is not of a 17 year old but rather a 12 year old at times.. Let's hope this is just a phase to show development!
The screentime of the main leads have gotten shorter and shorter lately due to the second leads...also why am…
Yup!! I have the same fear.. It was going so well until ep 11 or so but the plot became illogical afterwards. It feels like a diversion with a messy timeline/same old tropes of going on holiday-losing money. The 3rd youth drama using the same plot device. The reason I've been liking it and sticking with it was because, although being a youth drama with similar vibes to Lovely us which I also loved, it still felt unique... Let's see..
Actually, as a native speaker too - assuming you are one - I'd like to add my two cents. Kairos in ancient greek, means the right time, the right moment, the opportune moment. Eg, the word opportunist in greek, translates to καιροσκόπος - kairoskopos, literally meaning the one observing, looking towards, aiming (σκοπός, σκοπέω-σκοπώ, σκοπεύω - skopos, skopeo-skopo, skopeuo )- at the right moment ( καιρός - kairos). In that sense, I believe the title is more than appropriate. It's all about timing isn't it? Other than that, I pretty much agree with your review.
