So, I'm only going to say this. If you don't like xianxia, and are a BaiLu's fan, she has 6 modern dramas and 2 republican dramas and historical costume dramas, you can watch that. If you're not a BaiLu fan, but see the need to come under the comments of her dramas to bash them, there's just one word to describe you "pathetic". If you're a drama fan or a BaiLu fan and you're enjoying this drama, please don't forget to rate it, and let's discuss the points you find interesting.

So far, I think this is the most cunning character BaiLu has ever played. Imagine wearing such a thick mask, hiding daggers behind her cute and pretty smile. Oh btw, their story isn't just about a simple misunderstanding that escalated, it is more deep rooted than that, she just hates and loves him.

Thank you, and have a happy viewing experience.

I just watched the first episode, and it feels like Ma Siyi’s character was originally written as the main female…
If your intention is to know more about the characters background, then I believe you've been answered, so I don't need to repeat it. But if your intention was to create disharmony and propagate the narrative that BaiLu isn't the female lead, or isn't suitable as the female lead or shouldn't have been the female lead, for whatever reasons you have. Then I advice you drop the drama, and go somewhere else.

Thank You.

I feel a lot of people may have missed this, it could be regarded as a spoiler if you haven't watched it, and not if you have watched it. But it is a point that I feel even those who watched it may have missed (actually make that two points).

Firstly, did y'all notice that there was a 6th contemplation? At the very last episode, and Secondly, she didn't intend to aim the last arrow she fired, at him, but...

I already wrote a long review but I feel I still need to drop something here. I don't consider myself a regular audience as out of job habits I tend to pick a lot details that may have been missed. Here is a detail on the costumes, that I picked. I mean I can write a long easy for each other strengths of this drama but there might not be enough space.

Firstly, I agree that the project isn't perfect and needed to improve some points, I won't dive into the details of the weaknesses of the project. Rather I want to make known some points that I believe made this drama project an excellent one;

-The costumes and makeup: For those who didn't watch the full drama or those who watched but didn't catch these points, this is for you. Every costume was carefully thought about and designed. It's not just wearing costumes all in the name of it's a costume Xianxia drama. Every clan and sectors costumes where designed according to the identity of each. The colours, materials, the accessories, the design on the material etc. were all carefully put together. Why do you think when Bai Shuo went to the fox clan she had to wear a dark orange and off white colours? What are the representative of a fox? Orange and off white. So why do you think the fox clan had the element of these colours in their costumes? In the stone clan, why do you think their costume looked achy? Because stones look achy and didn't stones have different shapes. This point was considered and used while designing the costume for the stone clan. And did you notice the make up? Did anyone notice the change of the colour of flowers used as the eye makeup for Fu Ling changes after she finds out about her identity. Or the rainbow eye shadow on goddess Xing Yue? Omg, the list is endless. But I'd stop here and give you some points to think about.

I really really really really enjoy Moonlight Mystique. It just hit in all the right places.

I know it has it's weaknesses right, but I sure can rant all day about it's strengths. I'm currently in episode 37, and a realisation just hit me. The fact that every subconscious space has it's different colours and elements, also the echo in the subconscious. All these intricate details, they added beautifully. These and many more attention to little details definitely certified this drama for the books.

It is definitely one of the best xianxia I have watched. Omg!!! My mind just went 🤯

I wanted to say this... I noticed that a lot of people (myself included) feel that BaiLu's acting is quite exaggerated in her dramas (the dramas that are referred to, are Tteotm and SOPK, as most of those people haven't seen any of her other dramas).

But after giving it some thought, I came to an understanding. The exaggerated acting is very suitable for xianxias and idol dramas. If the actions, expressions or mannerism of the actors in Xianxias or idol dramas are muted it makes the drama boring. Why? Because everything about idol dramas are exaggerated. From the exaggerated storyline, plot and costumes, if after making everything exaggerated and then actors act all solemn, it automatically brings the tension down. And why I believe her exaggerated acting style is only for idol dramas is because of her acting style in non idol dramas. Even her acting style for idol modern dramas and costume dramas are different.

Her acting style for OFL and Tteotm and SOPK were very different. From her expressions being more controlled in OFL and SOPK and then exaggerated in tteotm. Her acting style in Ordinary Greatness was also different from her acting style in AMA. Her acting style in One and Only was different from her acting style in Forever and Ever.

I mean only people who watch her dramas can point out these differences, sadly. But it also goes to show that most people who rush to condemn her acting, are people that don't really take their time to watch her dramas.

A clear distinction will be the difference in her acting in Moonlight Mystique and Northward. So her performances are not over exaggerated, but her performances for xianxias are what can be considered exaggerated, and that's also mainly because of the genre.

Moonlight Mystique sure understands my heart, and I can't help but feel happiness while watching it.

Bai Shuo said in episode 28 that she was only 10 years when she met Jing Yuan and how her feelings for him naturally were only feelings of gratefulness. I've always thought it was kinda weird how in most kdramas they always have to make a connection with their childhood. A premise that even cdramas have started adopting.

I mean sometimes the connection makes sense for the plot, but most times it felt forced.

i want this theory. but it's still a bailu drama so i'm not gonna get my hopes up. 😅
It's a happy ending. I think it ends in a BE, but they have an additional scene which is a HE.

Person Wang Duo
I loved this actor so much in Bloody Romance, and I'm currently watching The Blooming Love, I was wondering why he felt so familiar, so I came to check and I was right. I'd love to see him as a lead in a costume drama.

I don’t want any delays with MM but it seems like FP has a way bigger promotional budget than MM. I see a lot…
Well, if you're really a fan and just want MM to do well, then maybe this isn't the time to be talking about FP, or comparing FP's big promotional budget to MM, because no matter how innocently you may have said that, it would naturally give a bad impression, especially in a period even her anti's are having the same discussions as this.

The suggestion of staying off social media is because you don't seem to get the grasp of what's actually happening, and commenting without much knowledge of what's happening, even if you had the most sincere reason for it, will come off as trying to start something. And no one is trying to combat you.

Just letting you know that it is a sensitive time, and if you are truly a fan, maybe be careful about the things you comment and the discussions you jump on. And because this is a MM page, the more reason why discussions about FP or comparison should be dispelled. It's already hectic on weibo, fans of MM and BaiLu should rather think of how we can get more people to join our watch party and let more people know about the beauty of this drama.

If you however once again take this comment out of context, then that's on you. Peace and Happy New Year.

For those who may be coming here after getting the wrong information from a group of persons, here is to clarify the false informations spreading about BYFX.

Firstly, Moonlight Mystique has no link with Yu Zheng, he is not the producer. The drama he however produced is 'Fued' or 'Lin Jiang Xian' which is another BaiLu drama coming out this year.

Secondly, the airing date hasn't been set, and all dates flying are just rumors so far.

Thirdly, the story which BYFX is based on, is an unfinished story which has been written to about 98%. It is not a continuation of ALS nor TLI. So don't come expecting the story to continue from these dramas.

Fourthly, the story is layered and wouldn't only be focused on the main leads and their romance, come expecting to meet more new faces.

Thank You.

I wrote a summary of the situation back then so people don't get the wrong notion, and then I wrote a summary of my observations of the reactions of both fandoms without bias, as transparent as I can get. If someone sees that and feels I'm trying to instigate a fanwar, because they are uncomfortable with my points, I can't take the blame as it is their problem not mine. Maybe they should try reading my points again, while considering the whole context and not just a fragment. Thank you. Happy New Year 🎊

Obviously you've not been following MM either, because if you have, you'd know that they've released 2 trailers, one MV, and they have a 2 weeks itinerary schedule, while releasing content every other day. The user that replied you wasn't rude and just pointed some points you missed, if you consider that rude, then you're just guilty of trying to instigate a fanwar here while pretending to be a BaiLu fan and using her picture as your profile picture. Better stay off social media, unlike you, some of us just want to enjoy a good play, whether it is FP or MM. And the excuse of claiming you're worried about MM doing well is quite unnecessary as every drama has its different audiences. Those tuning to FP will watch FP and those tuning to MM will watch MM. It's not the first time two big dramas have been aired the same time, and there isn't a month that doesn't have a play airing. So calm down and just expect MM, if you're really a fan.

I'm excited for the play, especially because it would be nice seeing Bai Lu playing a detective role. But it is…
And no one should say BaiLu's fans are too much as they are simply fighting for what's right. If this case was reverse, and it was Male Centric drama with WXY as the Male lead and Bai Lu as the female lead and YK plans to promote BaiLu as the same importance with Wang Xingyue, when it Is apparently a Male Centric detective drama? His fans wouldn't sit back, even Cnetz will support his fans, and funny his fans wouldn't go attacking YK or even YZ but they will all gather at BaiLu and her fans. Thankfully her fans seems to be smarter, although there will be a few who aren't, majority of her fans know whom they need to be fighting and that's YK and YZ. And so far they have currently waged a war against YK. I guess that's the reason for the scrapping of the booting ceremony. Although I still feel this might change before booting starts. We may actually get a booting ceremony, it is a big project and they are definitely required to host the beginning big. So I don't believe they won't hold a booting ceremony, most importantly I don't trust any of these platforms, all are quite shady with their dealings.

I'm excited for the play, especially because it would be nice seeing Bai Lu playing a detective role. But it is a Yk production, which means there is bound to be controversies as apparently Yk uses negative publicity to promote their big shows, we already had a taste of what happened with Tteotm last year and SOTPG this year.

They have already started their negative publicity, this time it seems in cohorts with YZ. YZ once again instigates fanwars with the two fandoms, by playing down WXY's hardwork accrediting it all to BL, and then indirectly coercing her to sign the contract of the play. He not only revealed the contract details of the play which he shouldn't, he went on to reveal that he had signed the contract for the drama without apparently informing WXY, and further blabbing about the play can only be a higher level if BL signs the contract which she was still yet to sign. Revealing all this, obviously fans will get enraged by it, as one fandom will think he is putting down one to promote the other and another fandom will think he is purposely setting one up for scolding.

That passed, time for the official announcement of the cast YK plays a game of separating the announcement dates. Announcing BL first and WXY second. This clearly will enrage one fandom and please the other. But in the day of WXY announcement YK played another one obviously pleasing and enraging the two fandoms. But prior to this back and forth. YK had already stated this drama to be a Female Centric drama, and we know they usually do this type of different day announcements for Male Centric dramas. And since this play is meant to be a female centric detective palace drama, which focuses on women, clearly BL should be promoted more, but Yk suddenly changing their attitude and trying to promote it as an equal billing/importance project, which they clearly won't do for Male Centric dramas with this genre, eventually triggered her fandom causing them to accuse YK of lying and deceiving them and using her fans to gather heat for the play. To makes things worse, YZ goes on his social media to claim, the reason why WXY's announcement was delayed for two days was because he had a destiny reading and that announcing it that day will bring blessings, and even went on to escalate it by saying the script was a romance genre script and not full detective. This he later retracted by saying he was just teasing BL's fans.

Anyway, this is just the start, more situations like these are likely to arise. Hopefully both fandoms don't continually let themselves get played by YK and YZ and only focus on their favourites and pray for the success of the drama.

His favourite child?! You mean his favourite cash cow. I don't know what about Yu Zheng always trying to instigate…
One doesn't need to be a fan of Bailu to know that Yu Zheng definitely doesn't see her as his favourite actress. Like everyone who knows about C-ent and has been following C-ent for a long time, know this statement about BaiLu being Yu Zheng's favourite is a nice way of saying she's his cash cow and a helper to promoting the people he wants to promote get their heat (I mean Yu Zheng definitely said this himself, he claims it is in their contract clause that the seniors who are doing well have to carry the younger ones who are just starting in the company). But it seems this clause only applies to BaiLu.

After the explosive and unexpected success of "The Double" and after the success of the onscreen pair of Wang…
His favourite child?! You mean his favourite cash cow. I don't know what about Yu Zheng always trying to instigate fan wars with BaiLu's fans and other actors fans, or give her a bad public image means she's his favourite child. I don't know how that logic works. Because his real favourite children ar those he fight tooth and nail to give them a pristine image, always promoting them as good. But when he comes to commenting about BaiLu he always tends to infuse snide remarks as compliments. I don't know if people are just blind and believe whatever they want or they really just don't see it.
