When he back for drinks, the girl die by an accident. She stood on the road and hit by a truck. One year later the guy must go to Kinmen (military service), like in her dreams a year ago. The guy have the same dream (on boat). He told her (in his dream) not to meet/contact him. Without him, she still alive today.

So basically,its not a tragic ending. Sort of like in "The Lakehouse". The girl dies,but on the same day,an year later (we can deduce this from MJ dying news on FM when she had the dream & MJ's death anniversary when he has the dream),he has the dream & warns her not to come find him.She doesn't & doesn't have the accident.And he comes to find her later as promised.

Yes... Although many people said they expected it,for me it was a shock. Couldn't get over it for a couple of days. :'(
