This is one of the dramas that had a hate train going for it but when you watch it you are like wtf this is a…
We couldn't agree more. The ratings are obviously being effected by viewers who shouldn't be watching this type of dramas as yet or don't like these type of drams. What do they expect from a teacher/student drama???? This story is such a gem and so wonderfully told. We wish more people will stop reading comments/reviews and give it a try themselves. Most viewers will THEN not regret it. But the viewers are going in with this already created mindset of it's going to be so, so, and so and don't even give it a proper try past the first or second episode. It's sad really!
*****SORRY about our rant. This is for all the viewers out there that understood what this story was all about, where the direction was going, and can see it for what it is.*****
We have so much we want to say, but we're actually dumbfounded to be honest. We'll come back once we feel we can better relay our thoughts.
We're shocked by some comments. The description of the series says clearly "A sexual scandal between a math teacher and a student in a prestigious high school ends in tragedy." You would think that the viewers can interpret that the story will go in that direction or will have something to do with 'a type of relationship' between the teacher and student otherwise why would there be any grounds for a scandal (AKA photos or such).
HOWEVER
NOTHING INAPPROPRIATE HAPPENS BETWEEN THEM IN SCHOOL. Nothing the teacher does gives any vibe that she wanted to have any type of relationship with the student other then help him. She did nothing wrong. She did include the other girl in all the interactions, but after a while stopped because she saw the girl was getting assistance outside of school via her parents with the internship she got. Same with the student. He did nothing wrong. Yes, you could see he developed a crush (airport scene for instance), but (except for the airport scene) he never showed it other then talking to the teacher or taking some photos. Which, when he gave the photo to the teacher, she immediately said she can't except it. The photos shown as 'proof' for the scandal (once again except the airport scene), was stupid, because all we could see was them talking. They never held hands, kissed, or did anything inappropriate that can cause the viewers to think she took advantage of the student or visa versa. If you do think this, then obviously this is not your type of story, you're looking for a problem where there is none, or you shouldn't be watching dramas as yet (due to age, etc.). This is our opinion. Because honestly this is effecting the rating of a story so beautifully told. The only reason why our rating isn't 10, is because we would have loved a more physical side to the story (when he came back after the four years) aka kissing, But once again this is what we've come to expect from Asian dramas, therefore we can't really complain about it. The story makes way up for it. And the chemistry between the two leads could not have been better. They did nothing, however you could still feel everything that was never said between them.
We hope we're getting our point across. Please give this story a try ONLY IF you're open minded. Obviously, there is going to be teacher/student interaction, BUT it's not as 'bad' as some in the comment section or through their review will have you think. Don't regret not having watched this. You're really missing out on a great storyline.
