I really don't see chemistry between jang hyun and the mysterious woman and that just makes sense because "My Dearest" is about Gil Chae and Jang Hyun's unconditional love. That's why I will never understand why are you guys wishing for Jang Hyun to fall in love with that woman. I firmly believe that Gil Chae and Jang Hyun are meant for each other, they suit each other. Everything that transpired in Part 1 constitutes essential elements of Gil Chae and Jang Hyun's love story. Consequently, I don't believe their story ends there unless they changed the female lead.
Part 1 primarily centers on the individual growth of the characters, a deliberate choice by the writers. Even when given the opportunity to be together, it never materialized, not even during the invasion. I commend the writers for this decision, as it emphasizes the independence and resilience of both main characters, qualities I believe they will need even more in Part 2.
The transformation in their characters becomes evident during episodes 9 and 10 when they are on the run together. This showcases the typical recklessness and childishness associated with teenagers in our generation. However, the moment they decide to part ways, we witness the depth of character development they have achieved thus far.
Hence, I have high expectations that Part 2 will center on their journey together.

I don't understand people who ship Lee Jang hyun and the mysterious woman, I mean I don't see their chemistry at all and that alone make sense because this kdrama was made for Gil Chae and Lee Jang Hyun only. It's their LOVE STORY and you can read it in the synopsis. Besides, the mysterious woman is just a guest role I heard? No matter how much I hated Gil Chae's character, I just realized now that she's just being realistic, her character was made that way. The fact that they didn't show Gil Chae as a married woman yet means part 2 is definitely about them getting back and the time for them to correct their mistakes and I hope it'll be at least a happy ending for the both of them.
