Akhee is the one who kissed Gyera.
Also, in the preview, it was Hyun's voice, and even the eyes changed when they got out of the water.

Akhee is the one who kissed Gyera.
Oh, but I'm hoping it's Hyun because I genuinely believe it's him. The last part after the kissing scene, where Hyun appeared, I think that happened way before the kissing scene; he managed to get out. Also, notice how her reaction changed, as if the person with him at that time suddenly changed. But she said, " this person is warm?" I think Akhee and Hyun were switched. The last time they talked about their temperature, Hyun is neither warm nor cold anymore. I truly believe it's because he's becoming warm now that she has Gyera. Akhee is the cold one now, and sadly, I think he's going to disappear at the end. Hyun has become the warm one because if it were Akhee, she would've mentioned it earlier besides she shouldn't be that shocked anymore because she already knew that AK hee was supposedly the one who is warm.

his empathy? his instinct was to let the girl be tortured and condemned. he left her to die. when he decided to…
I might not see it the way you do, but I totally respect your take on things. We all have our own angles to see the story, right? Besides, this show is an adaptation, and honestly, I haven't caught any vibes of Hyun being a tyrant in this kdrama. Even if you're trying to make me see him as the ruthless guy here, I'm still cheering for him. Let's see how it plays out.
Ps. I'm not hating on akhee, he's really adorable but there's a reason why I'm rooting for hyun rather than AK hee. sometimes the webtoon and the kdrama take different paths, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this one.

For those hating on Sajo Yeon, I get it. His character might not be everyone's cup of tea, especially if you prefer a knight in shining armor who is cool and skilled with a sword, capable of taking down dozens of assassins for you. But not for me. I believe in Sajo Yeon; his empathy, softness, wit, and strategies make him unique and stand out for me. Akhee is cute tho, but my heart truly belongs to Sajo Yeon since the first episode. It feels like I fell for him the same time Gyera fell from the roof and fell in love with him.
And do you guys already forget how he saved Gyera when she was being framed for being an assassin? I just think Gyera is his medicine, his therapy , he's able to overcome his fears when it comes to Gyera.
This time, he let Akhee go, even if it meant breaking the bonghamsal, just for the sake of Gyera because we all know that Sajo Yeon can't bring himself to hurt a fly, but his alter ego can. That alone is a selfless act from Sajo Yeon. As for his father, if you're really watching it, you'll understand that Sajo Yeon's character is very soft, and that is what I like about him. I think he would have preferred his father to be punished by the court and executed according to the law rather than through an assassination. That is his character, rightful and empathetic.

The fact that we r having second lead syndrome even tho it is played by the same actor is because the actor is…
I'm not having SLS. I'd be dropping this drama if she ends up with Ak hee fr. Or can't they just merge??

i really dislike ak hee and people who like him. "green flag?" lmao
Same, but he's cute tho.. it's just that, sajo yeon got my heart, and gyera's too🥺
All I have for Ak hee is sympathy but I just think that he's still sajo yeon, just the other personality.

Why do I have a hunch that it's Sajo Yeon who kissed Kyera? Am I the only one, or am I just being delusional because I'd be disappointed if it turns out to be Akhee? Like, Akhee can't touch Gyera, right? But when they kissed, he looked comfortable

This kdrama reminds me of every classic novel I've ever read. I've never been so invested in the happiness of both couples in any kdramas I've watched before. Even if they were to die together in the end, I would still see it as their ultimate happy ending.

Anyone else finds the female lead very obnoxious and annoying!?They could have picked a much more beautiful actress…
Y don't you just take the role then? FYI, the female lead delivered the character as necessary, as she should be.

Waittt, I THINK GIL CHAE INDEED MARRIED THE OFFICER BUT IT'LL BE A FAILED ONE. BECAUSE ACCORDING TO ANOTHER DESCRIPTION (SYNOPSIS I HAVE READ BEFORE) which I just recall now, Gil Chae was described there as a woman who already married once.. I don't recall the exact words but during that time, I remember being confused about that description and maybe that description was meant for season 2.
I can't find that description anymore but I do remember it! Also there were scenes during the first 5 episodes where Jang hyun convinced men before going to war "not to marry their lovers as a husband can live after losing his wife while a wife's life stops at her husband's demise. "
I think that is another foreshadowing for what will happen in part 2.

i don't know why Jh deserves someone better than GC, she did mature, he didn't the way he came to get her while…
Jang Hyun's appearance in the first episode feels like the conclusive moment of the whole story. If this is indeed the case, it confirms that Jang Hyun's love was exclusively reserved for Gil Chae; he never truly moved on. This is precisely what I wanted to see, as I couldn't bear the thought of any of the main characters falling for someone else instead of finding their way back to each other.

Oh, man... I'm sorry, but I had a hard time finishing that last episode... No matter how you try to slice it,…
Both of them made mistakes here, and it wouldn't be fair to point fingers at just one person. Their communication has consistently been lacking, and it wasn't until episode 10, when they were on the run, that they finally expressed their longing for each other. I guess the real love story will really happen on part 2.

Well that depends. Is it ok for the FL to have a love triangle with the SML, while the ML is apparently prohibited…
It's fine to have her around Jang Hyun, they could even be fling, he could have any woman around him, but we all know, based on the beach scene from episode 1, that he will never get over Gil Chae. Besides, Gil Chae had never developed any romantic feelings for Yeon Jae or even for that officer. It has always been clear whom she really loves, for whom her heart truly yearns.

I firmly believe that everything that transpired in Part 1 constitutes essential elements of Gil Chae and Jang Hyun's love story. Consequently, I don't believe their story ends there.

So here's my theory..

I think Gil Chae will not marry the officer, as I think the sole reason why she stayed is because she felt responsible for her family. Seeing how she transcends from being an immature and childish lady to a fully grown and fortitude woman, I think she spent that 2 years being the head of her own family. So she will continue with her business and would even sell products or trade or whatever with the Qings and that's how I think her path will come across with Jang Hyun again. That's what I think will happen.
Also, Ryang Rum was there.. with that expression he had on his face looking at Gil Chae I think he will te all the things that Jang Hyun had done for her.

Part 1 primarily centers on the individual growth of the characters, a deliberate choice by the writers. Even when given the opportunity to be together, it never materialized, not even during the invasion. Instead, they each chart their own paths and fiercely contend for their personal survival protecting their own people. This narrative approach diverges from the typical drama trope, where one lead character frequently rescues the other. I commend the writers for this decision, as it emphasizes the independence and resilience of both main characters, qualities I believe they will need even more in Part 2.

The transformation in their characters becomes evident during episodes 9 and 10 when they are on the run together. This showcases the typical recklessness and childishness associated with teenagers in our generation. However, the moment they decide to part ways, we witness the depth of character development they have achieved thus far.

Hence, I have high expectations that Part 2 will center on their journey together. I got a feeling that this will not end so tragic..
