I speak korean and the reason this did not gel too well with audiences in Korea is because of the sex in specific situations within in. No one is bashing her as she is a GREAT actress. They are blaming the story and the plot! If you are using MDL rating as a tool we all know this site is not necessarily a mouthpiece for all of kdrama watchers internationally. I agree with you. I just feel like if it is meant to be iw will be in whatever time. Jus because you have longer time does not mean people will open their minds to new possibilities. I have sat there and watched lots of dating shows (including some that do not get translated internationally) SO FRUSTRATED and hoping people open up their minds to meet other people that have good feelings for them just for it to not happen. Also the fact that they know shows with shorter shooting times have made lots of couples still together I do not see them increasing the shooting time.

SeongHo started opening his heart to JS as they kept spending time in the house and felt attraction. He needed to do the date because he wanted to verify and was hoping what he felt when they talked at home would be the same on a date outside of the house. I disagree with you on more time will let people get to know other people. Most people that have attraction for someone even if the person does not like them back keeps going for that person. Even if they had 2 weeks there they would still not open up their mind to get to know other people that has to do with the people not the timing. Even with a week of filming again I have seen MULTIPLE couples being formed that did not choose each other for the first date. You have to understand we do not get to see like 80% of the footage of the boys hanging out in the house and getting to know each other....and the same goes for other shows. They go on dates for 5-6 hours but they are home with others for over 12 hours. And if you count that multiple people that have gone out on dating shows have said that they do not get much sleep while there if lucky most get 2-4 hours. So the majority of the house spends a lot of time together we do not get to see.
The reason why SH and JS got together is because for one SH said from the beginning he is the type of person who likes feeling like he is being loved. If SH was the type to want to chase what HE likes from day 1 it WOULD NOT HAVE MATTERED WHATEVER JS DID. That is the issue. I have seen WAYYY too many contestants on MULTIPLE shows that have people that like them going after them but they are stuck wanting someone that does not want them and choose that person until the end. This is not a problem per say but this is the reason why you guys start to blame the time it has nothing to do with it. How many times I have watched in frustration longer dating shows that the person was stuck on someone that did not like them for weeks while they had an amazing person that likes them but they don't want that person. Some people can only get with someone if THEY chase and that is fine. Also SH was not unhappy at the beginning of that date lol WHAT? Before they had even gone on a date he was stuck and divided on if he wanted to call JS or SW that one night. He ended up calling SW that night but he even said if they are equal rn before he even dated JS then tht says a lot!
The issue is not the time because if people are willing and open minded something can happen in 6 days (again they are together 24/7 this is not like dating in the real world they get REALLY close!). Just like if people are stuck on what they like which is fine and they film for 3 weeks they will not change their mind and you will sit there annoyed the whole time.
It is impossible for them to make the filming for this like 2 weeks because PEOPLE CANNOT GET THAT TIME OFF FROM WORK. That is the reaosn it is like this. Unless they make it longer and people can keep working and stuff but that will not work for this show as they need to be free for hours to date on most days!

No. JJAK which is the OG korean dating show was like 4 nights and has made lots of couples. Also I am Solo is like 5-6 nights and they go home and has had MULTIPLE couples making it all the way to marriage. Love Catcher as well had a season that has produced a long term couple and they only there for a few days! The shows you listed like Heart signal they get to keep going to work and live their regular lives so it is okay for them to be there for multiple weeks. Korean companies will not give their workers off weeks on end for shows like His Man where they cohabit AND do not go to work and just hang togethr all day that is the difference. For this show and shows like it I listed they can spend the whole time focusing on themselves and building relationships as they take off of work.

They live together so they see together all the time and spend their days together so a week there is like a month in the outside world due to the proximity which is natural to fall in love!
