Ppl asking is there romance? Romance its not over the top, as it's a revenge themed- political drama. But romance is subtle and we don't expect very intimate scenes either coz it's not online drama rather TV drama. About FL character- she is necessary for the plot, even if she didn't have any romantic relationship with ML I guess she still would have been there, coz of being princess of Dongxia.

Only if he can be sane after so many ppl dying, marquis death already impacted him. He will see more and now not being with the person (Antu) he liked being with. I don't know if it's happy ending for him but he genuinely likes her.
Xiang Antu girl, I know she is stubborn and silly most of the time but when she loves ppl it's unconditional. The way she loves her mother, Zhanghai ( even though she tease him for the favours she did ) and her bond with Mr. Eight. I hope writer will make more development in her character. Also I want to see Emperor vs Zhanghai now. And those suspicious Masters
Zhanghai your in laws house will be crazy. Not only the queen is scary, Antu's elder sister looks scary too. Now feeling like, it was all part of plan of Emperor. The seal is probably hidden by Zhanghai father, one who can actually find is Zhanghai but 3 other ppl also wants it. So emperor appointmented masters for Zhanghai to be trained up and remove other possible ppl who's after Gui seal too. Now who should Zhang Hai fight? Emperor? More than revenge it will be a political drama now I guess.
Well I guess everyone missing a part. As everyone asking was gui seal that important for Zhang Hai's father that he sacrificed his entire family? Well Zhanghai's father knew Marquis would kill him either way, even if he gave the seal. (Everyone including me was gaslighted so much by Marquis that we have forgotten he was capable of doing it, he was really ruthless). So it's better he didn't give it and sacrificed himself and the family.
Everyone don't forget to update your rating after watching every episode. Except for this site, Legend of Zhanghai has really good rating. 8.5 isn't bad but stupid dramas get higher ratings in this site.
I know ppl hate romance here but it's not just romance the human side of the way Zhanghai cried when he sat beside Xiang Antu. His only place where he could be himself. Imagine able to cry and say what you feeling to your supposed enemy's daughter.
Zhanghai 🥺🥺🥺 This revenge game is too cruel for him, the pain in his eyes after Marquis died. Also the way he looked at ZZX with guilt. When he sat beside Antu, she could feel his pain too. And he has no desire in life as the way he said to Xiang Antu he will be happy if he died in Queen's hand. Zhanghai is a great character his dilemma is just like us. Xiao Zhan what a phenomenal character he played with perfectly crafted acting skills.
