So I've also read the novel and have read it multiple times. I dont remember reading Xiang Liu blocking XY's bug from feeling what he feels. Maybe ive missed it. Can you show me where in the novel that says or implies this?

No, she only fell for jing. She did waiver for Xiang Liu during her break up with jing but she snapped out of it because she didnt want to be like her mother and father. Then soon after she got back with jing. When Xiang Liu finally figured it was Jing she liked he hardly showed up. Towards 3/4 of the book XL wasnt mentioned much and She didnt have any heart break like what she had when Jing wasnt around.

Why? Hes not that great of a character. Although he promised to protect her hes the one who hurts her the most. Hes very selfish and doesnt care about XY's happiness and only cares about himself and making himself happy. Hes very ungrateful to the people who have helped him out through his journey for power.
