On I May Love You Dec 18, 2023
On the surface/beginning this drama seems simple and cliche. I did not pay a lot of attention to it. I thought this is typical romantic drama. Well until...the rejection scene. The feelings from both FL and ML was so realistic.! This actually happened in my life..not every detail but the premise of it. From my perspective, the writers understood the emotional part of having a deep crush for someone for a long time…due to a great admiration for that person ..trying your sincere best to show that person you greatly admire through your kind actions and when you sense he might like you too ….you bravely step forward and ask to date that person…you get Rejected with one line about how you’re not suitable for each other!!! Yeah. I been there. I remember the exact hurtful feelings, the closure that was needed, and the need for emotional freedom. After the rejection, the urge to distance from that person is very real. FL wanted to distance herself and she end up repeating she only likes him for looks, his money, which was not the whole truth.

So even-though the man finally realized his feelings later, the feelings you used to have for him is not the same anymore due to his old blunt rejection response. During his pursuit whatever he say or do, you will be clouded with doubts and confuse about his intentions. It takes a long time and effort to take away those doubts.

I can see the ML perspective as well. He grew up in a close loving family, career focus, high confidence but extremely inexperienced with dating. His reactions and feelings are accurate and that’s how things happen in my life as well! I wonder if the premise of this story was taken from real life people.
