So at some point we are probably going to see the same plots and things like playing on a claw machine going shopping and putting on headbands a trip to riverside or rollercoaster getting drunk visiting a hospital due to an accident... etc. But for me it's not what they do together it's more like how do they do it and as long there is a great chemistry and genuine affection in their eyes then I don't mind watching the same tropes over and over again for the millionth time.
It's hard to explain in one single episode the theme/plot of the drama and wrap up the whole transitioning from one epoch to another plus the introduction of the main couple and having them meet and start some relationship/ sparkle and subplots, all in order to get you interested. Ok, I'm interested, let's see what happens next.

It's amazing how well she writes about ideas in conflict when compared to how poorly she writes about people having a healthy relationship, friendship and love. And where's Jin Lun? What's the point of having Zhanying killed that way? It's nonsense. I will keep watching and hopefully she won't kill the demon rabbit - my favourite. Also I have to follow Jenny park's rantings.

Xin Mei has the most beautiful smiles in the whole drama, it is really devastating. It's more powerful than any demonic war-god magic-tricks whatever. No wonder Lu Qiao keeps his head down all the time, trying desperately not to fall into it.
