Honestly, I feel like if yangzi was in this, you would be speaking differently. I’m not sure what episode you ended on but there’s a lot of plotting going on between factions, etc.

Demons are always going to move from Carefree to Human world every 12 years or so. So maybe just that “pass” is broken, but there is another way. And if it’s simply just getting the dead demons’ primodial spirit back to the herbs, why can he just teach his older Brother this and the older brother can rule and xuanye be the support person… Are you telling me since that Xuanye has more experience of Carefree since he’s been gone for 12 years? what was the older brother doing this whole time besides, trying to get him back?

And Mr. Fu giving her back the shell, was it only meant for this brief moment and then saying goodbye, I think he knows way more.

The ending is very typical story telling from chinese dramas decades ago…. which I’m fine with until…. see below.

Are you watching Chinese drama with western eyes. Ancient China + kissing in public or skinship isn’t a thing. I’ve been watching Cdrama for over 30 years… in modern chinese series, sure. And yes, they have adapted it a bit for international viewers but… intimacy isn’t just physical. JS

I noticed a lot of new viewers are always looking for romance, ie kissing for them to consider it’s a good show and I’m like yall should watch for the plot. smh
