I'm a woman but I am not straight and the reason why I enjoy BL and GL a lot more than BG is imply because I typically like the dynamics more and I relate to having feelings towards someone of the same gender. Not all BL and GL have a pairing with a dynamic that I find appealing but finding it is easier in the danmei world . When the two lovers are from the same gender, it seems,more often than not the relationship evolves into both of them supporting and loving each other without anyone getting underestimated or treated like they are less capable than the other. I don't know if I explained myself well but , in a nutshell,sexual orientation aside,gender roles and women getting treated in ways that I wouldn't like to be treated in BG novels makes me lose interest in them. If I don't like how the main pairing treat each other , then I don't want it.

I agree with all of the above but for me,it's the reason why I've been postponing reading the novel to this day, I think I would enjoy the drama more if I watch it without knowing the original story ,if I know what happens I'm less likely to watch attentively,Reading is a whole other story for me,I feel like reading a book is more about the choice of wording and how the events and characters are written. I will read the novel for sure though.It's only a mtter of time.

It's definitely not bad,I assume it is an extraordinary novel,but I prefer watching dramas as unbiased as possible,I think it's nearly impossible to capture all the written details and emotions in a 50 episode drama and that's without taking into account censorship.

I didn't read the novel yet but this drama seems so promising and I'm dying to watch it .Too bad I'm very impatient and I will most definitely go check out the novel.let's just hope we'll get to watch in July worst case scenario.
