Yep, I have now finished reading the novel. Don't ask me how i did that. Its like 50ish chapters. The novel was soo good, it kept me hooked. Yan ci isn't the ml in the novel and she doesn't end up with him. His character is exactly like the drama and all the scenes I've seen from clips are the same as the novel. I think they didn't change the ml and she will end up with the same guy in the drama. Yan ci will be the one left with regrets ig. Im surprised coz the actor who plays yan ci is more popular than the other guy so i still doubt if they changed it. I saw the author of the novel reply to an angry weibo post from a novel fan saying she isn't involved with the change of ml. I hope they stick to the book even tho i felt bad for the yan ci guy. But ik that yan ci is listed first on the tencent app so I'm confused if its simply coz he's more popular or because of another reason. haha sorry idk tbh i haven't read the novel but according to novel readers the other guy is the main lead lol and 'yan ci' is sl. I think they changed it for the drama coz the actor who plays him has more fans or maybe not coz this might just be a cse where the fl ends up with the sl instead of ml. Apparently the fl and the 'yan ci' guy are childhood sweethearts but based on the clips i saw fls mother (who appears to be mentally unstable) might have caused his parents death which kinda changed their relationship. If I ever get time to read the novel, I'll let u know coz apparently, it's very similar to the novel.
