Flourished peony didn't even follow the novel so yes only difference is she likes her husband this time and willingly marries him before the divorce. This has a more house fighting plot whereas flourished peony is mainly her surviving. The novel for this was way better than flourished peony so i will put my hopes up. Apart from this nothing else is like flourished peony.

Her romance is with the other guy zhang zhe hua not hu ge. Hu ge is her boss/leader I think. It's said that he goes missing/dies and thats how the story goes on with fl investigating. Li guangjie should be the antagonist and probably the one related to his death/him missing. The synopsis I read said they reunite so dunno if the death thing is just a fake death or not. Probably also why he was announced as special lead.

I secretly wish for this. One of her future melons is a xianxia so fingers crossed 🤞But all the xianxias these days are so repetitive so I'm hoping she is waiting for the right script. Actors don't get to see the full script before accepting so it's always a hit or miss and mostly on luck.
