People ignore how much Luke was tamed from the novel compared to the show too, while they kept Flora pretty much the same as in the novel towards him. I would say give it a go, only way to know is by trying it yourself. I don't feel that their chemistry thus far with the second leads is existent or better than the chemistry between them personally. I think this breakup might be as essential as the other show breakup, in which maybe they both can reflect on each other individually and better themselves before getting back together. Least, that's what I am personally hoping for. Given they have dated for 10 years since they were very young, maybe the separation will make each other realize how much they actually mean for one another in the end.

I doubt there will be any physical infidelity or even emotional at that between the leads. At most the second leads will try to pursue the leads during the breakup between them which is nothing new or never seen before at least. I would say let it air a little bit first if you're afraid of unnecessary drama between the leads like that, then depending on the feedback decide if you're interested in starting it or not. Is the first kdrama in a minute that got my hooked up, so for me at least it is interesting and shows the harsh reality of a long relationship from a very young age.
