What does Johan’s family do for their business? I read down in the comments that someone said they may work with electronics and if that’s the case, why would his mom sign him up to be a med major? Why not engineer or business if they want him to take over the family business after he graduates? That part of the story line never made sense to me.
Having him go to a war torn country for six months was a dumb decision by the writers and brought nothing to the story. When he explained his reason for leaving I just wanted the fl to hit him upside his head and knock some sense into him. That whole scene was just comical.
Why was he surprised that his father (grandfather) did that? Did they and we all not already know that he was an evil scheming piece of sh*t, matter of fact ml’s whole family is. I have more to say regarding some episodes and the fl’s constant crying in every episode, but that would make this thread longer than it already is. The original plot of the show just seemed to get lost towards the end. This show started off so strong too; anyway, I give it a 8.0 (mainly because of the first half of the show).

Why can’t they? It’s not like they fished for it and invaded her privacy. The agency made the announcement, and everything MDL wrote is public knowledge.
The drama is good but the ending felt anticlimactic. It also felt like there were scenes missing that would’ve given much more context to the story, such as, why the ceo of Hanbada hated the female leads mom. Also I didn’t like how scenes would cut when people were having a conversation and we sometimes never see how the conversations play out.
Also, why did they try to make Soo Yeon and Min Woo a couple? He was a total jackass and then out of nowhere we get a scene where he talks about being a provider for his family and that’s somehow supposed to make us sympathize with him? He had no character growth until the final two episodes and it wasn’t that big of a growth because he never once apologized to Woo Young Woo.
Why did they wait until the very end to have the two siblings meet? Especially since it was shown that he been knew about Woo Young Woo. I just feel like for us to care for his character and feel sorry for him than he should’ve been introduced way sooner even if it wasn’t as Young Woo’s brother. Throughout the show I kept feeling like I was missing something.
Overall it was still a nice light drama to watch, so I gave it a 8/10.
The female lead was too much of a yes woman for my liking. It's like she had no opinions of her own when it came to the male lead. Whatever he wanted or told her to do she just went along with it. When they break up she doesn't even put up a fight even with all the hurtful things he said to her, and when he wants them to get back together she again doesn't put up a fight or even make him work for it but just automatically accepts it. Also for someone who was supposed to be this really smart female and doing all these big things had way too much time on her hands to constantly be at the male leads beck and call. I liked it when they showed her being knowledgeable on her major and I wished that they showed more scenes like that. I was waiting for her to have some kind of character development throughout the drama but she had none, and compared to the female lead the male lead had the most character development.
*Side note: Every time a Chinese drama is shot abroad, either the female lead or second female character ALWAYS seems to have some kind of trouble where they are harassed or attacked. Also they constantly shove how much they love china and how everything they do is to bring pride to china no matter what industry they put the main leads in, whether it be business, fashion, jewelry, tea making, gaming, etc. I have no problem when the characters have pride in their nationality but when it's mentioned in almost every single scene I can't help but roll my eyes.
(Overall the drama is not bad, I give it a 7.5/10)
so much product placements and crying. I got bored as the show went on because the scenes were repetitive and nothing was really happening plot-wise. Overall it wasn't bad.
I have no recollection of watching this drama, but apparently I've seen 19/20 episodes. Someone must've taken…
SAME!! I completed this and apparently give it a 8.5. You would think that a show that I give such a high score on I’ll be able to remember it, but nope. I have a very vague memory of what happened and that memory is of a house on fire, sister-in law killing herself ( don’t remember how), and the brother-in law in prison.
I've had this on hold for about 3 years and i still have no interest in continuing. It was good in the beginning, but then it started to get draggy and repetitive, and the male lead kept getting on my last nerve.
The girl got on my nerves and i hated how she handled things. The one year jump was also unnecessary. The reason for my 7.5 rating is the main guy. His acting was amazing and the two leads had really good chemistry together. If it had been a different male lead and not him then i would've given this a 6.0. I didn't know who the male lead was before this show, but now i'm looking for other dramas that he's in.
