The loop will start again at 10 years old, this time, he won't feel guilty and avoid people through high school.…
Also, I rewatched episode 8 to understand it better because of all the comments. My take was okay but not complete. Although he was going to go back in time reliving 2007 and 2022, there's an alternate world where Jae Woo lives without Ji Hoon and without the guilt. He'd be living happily, grateful for Ji Hoon's sacrifice. The last part of epi 8 says, "*Another* Jae Woo in 2007,15 years later.." he went back to the hostel again in 2022 to find Ji Hoon per his dying request, "Jae Woo, come find me again" but he was a younger version (25yrs) Jae Woo. An older Jae Woo will be existing and living through the years till his life span. In short, the drama combined reality (life goes on) to free Jae Woo of the guilt and make him feel gratitude towards Ji Hoon's sacrifice and fantasy (life reruns) to make the romance between Ji Hoon and Jae Woo possible. Cos if he saved Ji Hoon, then they wouldn't be together in the real world because of the age gap. He can't fall for a 10 yr old, he'd be viewed a pedophile and hence their love story won't exist. So the fantasy(time travel) world was created for their romance while the real world was for Jae Woo's healing ๐.sorry for talking a lot๐ฌ
It ended how it should have with everything being the same, except for the every 15 years part. Honestly, it feels…
How about me thinking this? Although they could've saved both of them, the writers focused on the romance at the last end. If Jae Woo saved Ji Hoon, 15 years later, they couldn't be together cos he'd be 40 then, with a 25 year old, another problem they'd face. Also, I'm with you on the loop thing, but some comments say, the new and non-guilty Jae Woo (Grateful for the sacrifice of Ji Hoon) now, will move on. But a stuck guilty 25 yr old will exist in 2022 going back to 2007 every single time while another happy guilty free Jae Woo lives. This is to make Ji Hoon happy to be with someone he loves even for a few weeks. Maybe why he said he dedicates his 27 years to Jae Woo? ๐ค Hella confusing but, in, say, 2030,Jae Woo is happy and somewhere, it's 2022 and another Jae Woo is in 2007 being with Ji Hoon for 3 weeks over and over. More like fantasy and reality combined in one world for these two couple. A fantasy where Ji Hoon lives to die every single time and a reality where Ji Hoon is dead but Jae feels nothing but grateful.
The point is that Jae Woo who has the knowledge never goes back in time. Jae Woo who has the knowledge moves on…
Sorry, I still don't get it. ๐ฌ I thought he'd be back to 2007, this time, not feeling guilty but being happy but still wanting to see Ji Hoon. Was that not it?
Yeah, I don't mind sad or dramatic endings! But it gets a bit lame when they throw all the pain (and often internal…
So true, it's a loop that has happened before when he still felt guilty. My issue is, if I'm grateful now for your sacrifice, why exactly would I feel so sad to pick up your phone again to travel back in time. Because the older version this time around won't feel too guilty like the first and second time. Is it safe to assume that one day, it'll just stop cos it'll be a, "Oh, thank you so much Adjussi for saving me. Now I'm going to live my life"?
Another assumption, they could have changed the past, after all, 2007 will start again for them, especially Jae Woo because the first time, there was no letter to curb his guilt, this time, there's a letter, next time no letter will come cos he'd understand that they're doing this to enjoy a 2 weeks romance in every loop.
Guys, really, can someone explain me this loop-kind-of thing? Where is the loop? How can it start? In the end,…
The loop will start again at 10 years old, this time, he won't feel guilty and avoid people through high school. He'll feel grateful instead. See it as, he's going to be living 2007 and 2022 over and over again. That's my take tho
About the ending. First of allโฆ I get that Ji Hoon decided to save Jae Woo knowing he will die. Why did he not…
Everything you said is really true. I'd like to think Jae Woo is repeating his life from 10 years every time like Ji Hoon wanted right?
I do have to say, maybe Ji Hoon didn't bring any weapon to defend himself cos if he ended up killing the murderer, things would've being chaos with the constant trying to explain the defense and all. I'd also like to assume, he did want to die cos if he survived, he'd never get to be with Jae Woo, they were 17 years apart๐ . He might've had a family of his own or something since he was writing his exams to leave that place to another school. And he can't be loving a kid at 27.But that said, I'd never want to repeat my life over and over for a 3 weeks love each time. 3 weeks where Ji Hoon only starts loving after about almost 2 weeks. I liked this story, but they lost me cos I thought it was all about saving Ji Hoon.
So thank you, for pointing out that it was meant for him to get over his trauma, however that works for him, cos I believe he's going to continue living from 10 years and get back to 2022. However, if he has no trauma, would he want to look for Ji Hoon in the hostel? That is why I reduced my rating. The ending felt ridiculous in my opinion ๐
The internet, talking to people who we have never met. Sometimes I wish we could all voice our opinions without being too angry about it or sad about it. We all have our experiences. We all have gone through stuff. Just like I can't wear your shoe, you can't wear mine either. Say if the same situation occured to us, our responses will be different, I might succumb as a coward and you might fight as a warrior but while you label me a coward, did you stop to think that maybe, that's how I can be comfortable, that's the pace I can walk in? We're all not strong, neither are we all weak. The comments some people made, makes me sad cos it feels passive aggressive and this is a social media world were you never know who the person behind the screen is nor what he/she was thinking. It's just a show, but someone could be hurt cos of a badly worded comment. Just my unpopular opinion tho.
P.s. I wouldn't mind age gap either๐
