In the case of this drama, it could actually be more fun and exciting to see a ‘love your enemy’ type of chemistry and a Flex Cop ending. in "love your enemy" — there’s no real reason for them not to, and their interactions/characters were clearly written to lead there. But with " beyond the bar" the characters are so well-written that the teasing chemistry alone would be enough to give that ‘love your enemy’ feeling — and still can end up like Flex Cop.
