I'm stuck. I was enjoying this, got to episode 19 and I am stuck there. This comment has no bearing on how good…
I was also stuck mid-through. Don’t know why. I decided to push through one day, and I still enjoy the episodes just like the ones before. Haven’t felt the urge to fast-forward. But I still don’t know why I got stuck :)
yes this drama is very different from her previous dramas. In this she is playing a teacher lin wanxing who has…
Yeah, I know Esther gets a lot of hate for it and it is undeserved. I think it proves that she is a great actress that she can pull off those voices and characters even thought they are not my preferred style :)

yeah I understand some people like it, but it has really made it hard to watch for others. sometimes I think a good middle ground is better :) I haven’t been able to finish Speed and Love even though I really want to. I feel uncomfortable with how the character is acting so childish. It would be fine I guess if the role was an actual child, but we are following her love story. But I’m in no way blaming Esther for it. It’s obvious that this is what the director wanted her to act like. But I think they could have toned it down a bit and it still would have been liked by the people who like her innocent cuteness while also being tolerated by others who find it difficult to watch when it goes too far. It might be a cultural difference, or maybe it’s an age difference. I’m 37 from a nordic country, so I know I differ a bit from the endemic audience :) There are many things that are portrayed in urban c-dramas that are very different from the society I live in, and most things are just a matter of things being different while other things are a bit harder to understand, like how people at 20-25 are not more independent. I lived in another country at 19 by myself 😅 or the constant belief that getting cold means you will get sick, or how often they comment someone is ugly when crying, should gain or lose weight or give advice about digestive food 😂

Yeah, I have been sure of that she can pull off other roles, especially after seeing her in Love between fairy and devil, when they switch bodies. I believe she is dubbing herself even in dramas where she has the baby voice, but it’s of course not her natural way of speaking. It’s kind of interesting hearing many of these actresses in interviews and hearing how different they sound from their characters (even when they dub themselves). :)
I’m kind of hopeful that this will be a drama where Esther gets to play something different and more mature than the usual baby voice characters they always cast her in
Thank God they didn’t cast Esther Yu for this role. The female lead would lose all her bad-ass:nes with Yu’s signature voice. I think the casting is great.

I like how the war advisors are so similar in character
