Maybe you're just not used to watching lots of jdrama or just not your liking about dark concept

there are. it's just that he is known for making adaptations from manga and getting more attention internationally, but if you look beyond japanese industry, there are lots of actors who is much more in demand than him. esp his buddy Suda Masaki who is actually much more everywhere in japan.

People keep on saying he is everywhere when Suda Masaki is actually the most in demand in Japan this 2016 which made him GQ Men of the Year 2016 and #1 spot on Top 10 Breaking-Actors Rank 2016 by Oricon, while his buddy Yamazaki Kento took the #2 spot and got a name of "The Prince of Characters", from his roles in manga up to now.
