In my opinion, he had a legitimate reason to feel that he deserved the throne, especially since his father was the Crown Prince. I also believe that his education and upbringing prepared him better to become a capable ruler. Compared to the current Emperor, Mo Yanqi, Prince Li seemed more knowledgeable and better suited to understand politics and the responsibilities of ruling.
However, I felt that Mo Xiuyao (Prince Ding) was not completely natural or convincing to me when it came to his relationship with Mo Yanqi, the Emperor, and Dong Jie, the Empress Dowager. Considering everything his family had been through, I don't understand why he would continue to stand with them or give them his loyalty when they clearly did not fully trust him and were always suspicious of his loyalty.
In my opinion, Ye Li and Mo Xiuyao should have allied with Mo Jing Li instead. I think Mo Jing Li would have been a much more natural and meaningful ally for them. The Emperor and his mother were not trustworthy, especially considering what happened to both Mo Xiuyao's family and Ye Li's family. They had every reason to be suspicious of the Emperor and the Empress Dowager, rather than continuing to stand by them.
Honestly, I feel that Mo Jing Li could have succeeded if Mo Xiuyao and Ye Li had chosen to cooperate with him. Their support and influence could have completely changed the outcome. To be honest, I found the way these two characters continued to defend the Emperor and his mother so fiercely to be difficult to understand. After everything that happened to their families, I find it hard to believe that they would simply put all of that aside and continue defending them as if none of it mattered. For me, this part of their decisions and loyalty was not very logical or convincing.
I also think Mo Xiuyao and Mo Jing Li should have had a much stronger alliance or a more direct confrontation. Their history, their connection to the throne, and their different perspectives could have created a much more interesting dynamic. I would have liked to see Ye Li and Mo Xiuyao working together with Mo Jing Li, instead of being so closely connected to a ruler and Empress Dowager who did not truly trust them.

I feel that his mother, Dong Jie, the Empress Dowager, never really taught him how to rule or how to become a strong emperor because she was the one who truly wanted to hold power herself. As a result, he grew up lacking the confidence and ability to make strong decisions as an emperor, which made him seem more like a figurehead than a true ruler.
What I find especially ironic is that when the Empress Dowager was dying, she told her son to be fair and become a just ruler, and then she still expected him to punish people even after her death. Honestly, the irony is hard to miss. After everything she had done and the way she had influenced his reign, it felt strange for her to suddenly ask him to be fair and just. She wanted her son to be a fair ruler, yet at the same time, she had spent so much of her life controlling the court and holding power herself.
Honestly, sometimes I wish I could travel back in time and become Ye Li myself, just to change the whole situation. I would have made Mo Yanqi and Mo Jing Li work together and find a way to remove the Empress Dowager from power, while having Mo Yanqi step down from the throne. I would want this to happen without a war or unnecessary bloodshedâjust through careful planning, political strategy, and taking the necessary steps from within the palace. I think this would have created a much more satisfying ending and a more interesting political storyline.
Overall, I really enjoyed the drama. The characters, acting, and political storyline kept me interested, and I liked discovering more about the characters as the story progressed. It was an entertaining drama with an interesting story and characters that gave me a lot to think about. â¤ď¸

I prefer strong, intelligent, mature, and charismatic female leads, like Princess Ning'an. Even though it's the same actress, the characters are completely different, and I enjoyed her portrayal of Princess Ning'an much more.
Also, I don't think this actress suits historical dramas. In my opinion, her look doesn't fit this genre.
ML is a scoundrel, who has lived with SFL since he was a young child. They want us to believe and understand that he was attracted to someone who helping him in a moment, and that is why he loved FL. But why didn't he love the SFL who pretended to be the one to help him?
The same applies to the FL and SML.

Since you are telling a tale, it is acceptable to make the actress appear unattractive for the part even though her face is attractive. Alternatively, if she's considered unattractive, makeup artists should work their magic and reveal her true visage. nevertheless, not what the drama depicts.
I find it incomprehensible in Chinese and Korean dramas that the low-status female-lead is always able to subtly offend high-status people throughout that time. They must create a believable storyline, even if it's for a fictional drama plot.
