At ep 7 and finally realized where I have seen the FL before..... Princess Silver!!!! She looks so different as a cute bubbly girl in a modern setting compared to the mature, elegant and composed Princess Rong Le.
I like how Ming Hao did not get to end things on his own terms. His plan of a grand suicide totally flopped, how embarrassing....LOL. Serves him right!
The ending scenes had more cuteness compared to the whole drama. The receptionist at the Civil Affairs Bureau directing them towards the divorce department was hilarious ๐. Honest mistake....with Xie Yi's jeans jumpsuit attire and them standing 3 feet apart instead to clinging on to each other like the other couples going past them. And then came the ..... Laogong,......Laogong. Laogong. Laogong. ae ae ae ae ae Laopo. Laopo. Laopo. Laopo. ๐คฃ...too cute ๐ฅฐ

They only showed her obsession when the plot demanded it. Like the time when she thought Yun He was her love rival. Seriously ewwww.....no thanx. Yun He's choice of men is way better.
The rest of the time her character was just a girl on a power trip whose daily schedule includes making every living organism around her miserable.

For motivation......an unhealthy obsession with her master? that works. Same motivation as Ning Qing had as well, obsession for Ning Xi Yu. Its like a hereditary obsession from teacher to student ๐. Only difference is Ning Qing got some comfort and consolation from Ning Xi Yu at the very end, but Shunde got brutally ignored...and hence the craziness. Pretty sure she had always felt the disinterest her master had for her even though he seemed to spoil her, which led to her being super insecure and sadistic.
How nice to see a Heavenly emperor and entourage who are not douchebags. I had lost my faith in Heavenly emperors of cdrama-land ๐.
The ending......I like it. I am a fan of happily ever afters.....so not complaining. Yun He was just sealed together with the evil spirit while it gets purified, so she was still alive. Maybe because of Yun He having the pearl inside her before she was sealed changed her to a mermaid? Yun He's unique constitution due to the experiments done on her makes her adaptable to heavenly and earthly essence which has saved her before by changing her to a complete earth immortal i.e a nine-tailed fox when her heavenly immortal i.e spirit master part died. So her body adapted to the mermaid essence that has been inside her for so long? Well...that's my theory.
Anyway.....they are both merpeople now and are going to have mer-babies and live happily in the eastern sea ๐ฅฐ
Speaking of the ending...the song ้ญ่บ่ไธ (Leaping Fish) by Sa Dingding playing at the ending is my favorite song of the OST. It was the background of most of the epic scenes throughout the drama and sounds so romantic + triumphant! Love it!!!
Ep 10 The Immortal master. the fairy princess ....all of them are giving off very sinister vibes. Even though the master hasn't appeared at all and the princess only had a small but pretentious intro, they sure are up to no good. The whole setup of the immortal clan lording over the sprite masters and earth immortals and banning any relationships is questionable ๐ The Valley master seems to be a necessary evil on the path to unveil the big boss. As Chang Yi mentioned.....Shunde Fairy's master was the reason they were able to capture him. The whole thing smells fishy...no pun intended ๐
Put this one on hold for a long time, but want to give it another try. Starting from Ep 1 again. Can't remember why I put this on hold....the opening seems pretty good. Three lonely people bound by their identities.
BTW....I've always wondered how Emperors could see through the dangly bits at the front of their crowns. Question answered! I guess even all mighty rulers have to lift those dangly stuff to properly stare.๐

He is always quick when deciding to punish Lan Xi without investigating any allegation against him, but when it comes to the Queen and the 3rd prince, he stops investigations midway and gets rid of all evidences for them. And of course, he is always very much aware from the start that its all planned by the queen or her son. And this is happening again and again and AGAIN.
And he has the gall to tell Lan Xi to not pursue and prove them guilty every time. Giving him that Prince title to pacify him, its like the King thinks Lan Xi is a child and will forgive and forget if he is given a candy. All for showing the world that the royal family of Yongzhou are all "united & peaceful". I don't think so. ๐คฎ.
The King seems to think of himself as magnanimous but its pretty clear that he is jealous of his own son for his royal lineage. Till now it looks like the King married Princess Yi Ge to improve his standing because of his low birth status, but never liked her. The one he likes is his concubine turned 2nd queen Baili, who like himself had low status..... and also twisted minds. Birds of a feather ๐ And speaking of twisted minds, I bet he wants the mother-son duo to focus on Lan Xi because if Lan Xi is out of the way, they very well might kill him to ascend the throne faster. He knows they are as greedy as him.
All in all....Lan Xi might be planning to use Yongzhou as a stepping stone for his goal to rule the Central Plains and that's why he is sticking around and tolerating the repeated injustice against him. But I so wish he would just leave this trashy family and cut all relations. ๐
