An overwrought neo-noir crime thriller that's more concerned with the twists, betrayals and turns than an actually engaging storyline. Strong acting and high production values don't save it from being boring.
An atmospheric horror at its best. Great character work, thematically deep narrative, strong direction. It's not set out to scare you, it wants to create a sense of existential dread (which I don't think it fully achieves tbh) and make you think about the world around you. Unfortunately the impact kinda dulls these days, the internet is not that unknown animal anymore (it's still a scary place but not in a supernatural way at all), technology is everywhere. The core themes are as relevant as ever, but everything that surrounds them belongs to a time long past.
A pretty bad horror movie that lacks both scares and the atmosphere. CGI is laughably bad, the pacing is atrocious, they couldn't even time jump scares right, it just seems comical most of the time. Ma Dong Seok's charisma is usually enough for me to finish even a mid film, but that wasn't the case here.
There's not that many action scenes (basically 3 big ones) but all of them are quite hard hitting (the last one in a subway is a bit silly, but still well executed). The courtroom stuff on the other hand is pretty uninteresting. A decent one off flick for the evening.
IMO they've ended it on a mostly satisfying note. The goal of stopping an organisation was never achievable. And that's exactly what they've shown, no matter how hard you try to break the system, you're not going to succeed. There's still a silver lining in In-Ho saving the girl in the end and doing right by Gi-Hun's daughter.
An absolutely brutal revenge flick. Great fight choreography (I like how they used more grounded, street brawl approach to it), great performances from practically everyone. The story is whatever, but it's functional enough to not stand in a way of action and that's obviously the main attraction here.

Oh, I definitely agree with that, I think it's kinda expected considering what I assume is a user demographic here. Not that all of that popular kdrama is bad, but a lot of it is kinda mid 00s CW esque slice of life/romance at its core.

Hard Boiled is hardly a hidden gem, it's one of the most celebrated action films of all time, most definitely one of the most famous Hong Kong action films, it's a stone cold genre classic.
Yeah, I've seen The Killer, A Better Tomorrow, Bullet in the Head and a good chunk of Woo's other works. Bullet in the Head is probably my favourite tho.
It's less melodramatic and grim than the first season and personally I consider it to be a positive. The action isn't nearly as brutal, but still well staged and shot.
The concept of yanki is inherently silly (unless you're from somewhere like Indonesia where youth gangs is an actual problem) and this season is certainly a good representation of that.
This hits every delinquent manga/manhwa/anime cliche in existence and you know what, I don't care, it delivers. The show is a ton of fun, the comedy bits are good and the action is great. This is how you make a live action adaptation of a highly unplausible source material.
It doesn't really stand a test of time and looks more than dated in some aspects. I'd recommend it though just to see how much Kiyoshi Kurosawa has progressed as a film maker from then. Some quite good sfx and make up work as well.
Very boring. The action scenes are poorly shot and edited, fight choreography is mostly decent but severely lacks weight. The plot doesn't make any sense and action absolutely doesn't make up for it. Could've been much better actioner if they've worked out camera movements and cuts , but it is what it is.
Downplaying a DUI is dangerous—it’s a leading cause of accidents, and while no one was hurt this time, it…
This isn't the first, nor the last time someone is taking their own life because of bullying, and it somehow incredibly common in Japan and South Korea. Frankly speaking, I think there should be repercussions for online bullying, but somehow it has become almost a societal norm.

I'm not downplaying DUI mate, I'm saying you should fine people with a large sum of money and then threaten them with an actual prison if they repeat the offence, so they'd think twice before getting behind the wheel while drunk.
The tame part was in relation to celebs being bullied for smoking a friggin joint.
How the hell it keeps happening in Korea? Why do you have to bully people to death for the tamest things like smoking pot and DUIs? Yeah, driving under influence is a bad thing to do, but thankfully nobody got hurt. You fine a person and threaten them with a jail time if they repeat the offence, not turn their life into a living hell. At this point it's a pattern, not a unique situation.

Really? I thought the first episodes were the better ones
Haha, that's exactly the opposite for me. I'm a bit of a horror buff, which is kinda shows in my watchlist, but while I enjoyed the atmosphere and the sense of mystery, I thought that the horror part itself was rather dull. The characters were lacking depth and I honestly didn't care for what was happening on screen. IMO the second part of the show, while more straightforward, also had a superior character work and more focused narrative structure which has elevated the material for me.

I thought the narrative was very clumsy in a first couple of episodes. They succeeded in building the atmosphere, but everything else was a little bit underwhelming.

The entire world becomes less empathetic with each passing second and cyberbullying is a part of it. Unfortunately the future doesn't look bright.
