This is really one of the best dramas out there. Lee Sun Kyun and IU are already a given, but I reallyfelt the depth in every single character in My Ahjussi huhu it's just so good!!

Oh no, please note that this drama needs a MAJOR TRIGGER WARNING. The relationship and the message it brings are borderline, if not totally, abusive, and the trauma backstory contains highly triggering content. Please take this drama with a grain of salt :(

There were so many symbolosims to digest and existential messages to confront throughout the movie especially as it comes from the March 11 earthquake context. The movie made my heart and soul ache, but the ending was just, as they say, beautiful.

Wow, this drama really went beyond my expectations. Though I initially watched it for Lee Seung Gi and the romance, I didn't expect that I'd actually be more glued to the political conflict. It took me how many days to finish this drama because it really engaged my curiosity on the history and the cultural differences between North and South Korea. I went through article after article just to get the context, and really this drama, I think treaded on thin ice. Ha Ji Won adapting the Hamgyong dialect is also really commendable, but my only problem is...why does her face almost always look confused?

I think this is the drama where I fell in love with Park Shin Hye. She was so bad in the last 4 dramas I watched her in, but I'm glad I gave this a shot. I agree the romance got annoying by ep 16, and other parts became too contrived (I wish yoon yoo rae and cap developed sooner, I really ship it ; n ;), but I really recommend this drama to the end.

This movie is frustrating on so many levels. The incorporation between the horror, romance, and comedy made it difficult to establish a coherent effect. It was just all over the place to the point where each incorporated genre became too contrived (even some dialogues that attempted to be meta). Nonetheless, Lee Min Ki's acting is commendable at least as juxtaposed to Son Ye Jin's here.
