A wonderfull and funny surprise in autumn

To illustrate better how much I adore Love in Discuse I'll say I felt the need to find my login and password for MDL to spread the word aboutthis hilarious kdrama. The pacing has been wonderful so far, and I absolutely love how the story is gradually building up the relationship between the leads. Nothing feels unnecessarily rushed, and every new interaction makes me even more invested in their dynamic. They make a big progress in their relationship without losing that chaotic energy tha I've been enjoying so much since episode one.

In my humble opinion, whoever decided to pair Siwan and Seol In Ah deserves a raise! Their chemistry is fantastic, and I adore how the drama plays with traditional gender roles and expectations. Siwan is delightfully sassy, dramatic, and unapologetically over the top, while Seol In Ah is effortlessly handsome, confident, and heroic. I love how they've softened the male lead's appearance and mannerisms while allowing the female lead to embrace a more masculine, commanding presence. It's such a refreshing dynamic, and both actors seem to be having the time of their lives portraying these characters!

What I love most, though, is that this drama doesn't need constant dramatic twists to keep me interested. The characters, their interactions, the humor, and the anticipation of what's coming next are more than enough. It's been a while since a rom-com made me genuinely excited about the journey rather than just the destination, and I'm enjoying every minute of it. If you're looking for a fun, charming rom-com with fantastic leads, refreshing character dynamics, and chemistry that keeps you coming back for more, please don't miss this one!

I just love this freakin' show. I've never thought I'd look forward to to Mondays. Yet, here I am. I honestly couldn't imagine a better show for this fall. I cannot wait to find out how this story unfolds, even though I'm really struggling with the waith for the next episodes. I'm planning to read the webtoon after the story wraps up because I aready feel it in my bones, that I'm gonna miss them so much. <3

Seong Hui Ju and The Grand Prince IAN became my comfort couple

Sometimes a story comes along that reminds you EXACTLY why you fell in love with K-dramas in the first place. For me, Perfect Crown IS exactly that. Was it flawless? Definitely not.
Yes, sometime it felt like that there scenes missing, some plotlines weren’t bluntly explained, but I mainly blame it on MBC. Moreover, that fake outrage this kdrama was hit with makes me protective of it.

What made this drama so special wasn't its complicated palace politics or unexpected plot twists. It was something much simpler, yet far more captivating: a beautifully developed love story between two people who gradually became each other's safe place. From the very beginning, I was completely drawn to Seong Hui Ju and Grand Prince Ian. Their first encounter was nothing short of spectacular, and I knew almost immediately that I was going to love watching these two fall for each other. Their relationship had everything I could possibly ask for: playful banter, undeniable attraction, emotional vulnerability, mutual respect that grew stronger which each passing day they spent together and those little moments of tenderness that make your heart skip a beat.

IU and Byeon Wooseok were simply magical together. Their chemistry felt effortless, natural, and incredibly convincing. Sometimes all they needed was a lingering glance or a tiny smile to communicate more than an entire conversation could. I particularly appreciated how their relationship evolved.

Can we please talk about Byeon Wooseok as Grand Prince Ian? Because WOW.
The elegance, the confidence, the quiet intensity, and that unmistakable royal presence! He looked as though he had stepped straight out of a modern fairy tale. Yet what impressed me even more was his ability to portray Ian's softer, more vulnerable side. Watching this seemingly untouchable prince slowly open his heart and more openly protective of his loves ones was an absolute delight.

IU was equally wonderful.
I loved that Hui Ju wasn't another helpless female lead waiting to be rescued. She was ambitious, intelligent, stubborn, and perfectly capable of standing her ground. At the same time, she wasn't portrayed as invincible. Her insecurities and emotional struggles made her feel human, and I appreciated that the drama allowed her to be both strong and vulnerable.

An unexpected highlight for me was Hui Ju's relationship with her brother. What initially seemed like a rather unpleasant sibling dynamic gradually revealed something much more meaningful. I genuinely appreciated that the writers took the time to explore their bond instead of leaving it as another stereotypical family conflict. Of course, the drama wasn't entirely about romance. There were political schemes, power struggles, family expectations, and plenty of palace-related complications. However, I never felt that these elements were supposed to overshadow the central love story. They provided the circumstances that challenged our characters and pushed them toward important decisions. Could some political storylines have been handled better? Certainly. But I personally didn't need Perfect Crown to become a sophisticated political thriller to appreciate what it had to offer.

I came for the romance, and the romance delivered. And honestly, what a romance it was! I loved how the drama wasn't afraid to embrace its romantic-comedy roots. It gave me butterflies, laughter, longing, adorable awkwardness, and genuinely touching moments without constantly trying to appear darker or more serious than necessary. Sometimes I simply want to watch two wonderful characters fall hopelessly in love, and Perfect Crown understood that assignment perfectly.
Now, let's talk about the ending, because this is where so many otherwise enjoyable kdramas disappoint me. Thankfully, Perfect Crown didn't.I was genuinely grateful that the writers allowed the main couple to enjoy their happiness instead of rushing through their final moments together. Seeing their relationship continue beyond the royal conflicts was incredibly satisfying. After everything they had been through, they deserved those peaceful, affectionate moments more than anything.
I also think the drama deserves credit for managing its twelve episodes reasonably well. Yes, certain developments could have benefited from more time, but the overall experience never felt painfully rushed to me. Most importantly, the conclusion gave the central romance the attention and emotional payoff it deserved.

In the end, PC to me is a charming, unapologetically romantic fairy tale with a modern twist. Not every drama needs to reinvent the genre, deliver shocking revelations, or leave us emotionally devastated to be memorable. Sometimes beautiful chemistry, lovable characters, heartfelt storytelling, and a satisfying happy ending are more than enough.
And that's exactly what Perfect Crown gave me.

Even though, it may not have been a perfect drama, but it was the perfect kind of romantic escape for me. It made me laugh like a fool, get ridiculously excited over the smallest interactions, and fall in love with its characters. And really, isn't that exactly what a wonderful rom-com is supposed to do? It’s one of my favorite romantic Kdrama experiences in recent years, and definitely one I'll keep returning to. I’ve already watched it twice.
