It's because FL strings him along & gives mixed signals. She didn't tell him to get out when she saw him in…
These are interesting points and I did see these, but they are portraited, in my humble view, as pressurising. Regardless of his feelings for her or her marriage, he should be there as a support, adviser and ‘lover’. He clearly knows her challenges but he aggressively puts her into awkward situations and applies pressure. Don’t get me wrong, I like his character, somewhat, but not in this. I would rather it was done differently and she comes to him because she appreciates his love and support not being pushed physically, mentally abused and always in her face.
You are absolutely right though, she handled it wrong from the get go! Nor was she firm enough.
I think its doing fairly well with history buffs. But the confusing beginning and some of the more opaque political…
You are of course right and I have to keep reminding myself to simply enjoy it for what it is, which is a well written historical story and soak in the tapestry of what’s being told. Thank you Megumi

I will have to say that I am finding it very confusing as an international viewer that usually likes historical dramas. I am simply taking my time and getting clarifications from here and Wiki😀
So far IMHO the best scene of S2 has to be Qinxiang's meeting with the young monk Jingyuan. It was sincerely written…
Happy 2026 Peach 🍑! This season’s offering Certainly doesn’t have the level of good writing nor give the sense of suspense. Other than the mysterious ‘peacock’ who many of hope would be a true surprise, they are all running around in predictable fashion . What’s with that joker of a king from the enemy kingdom😳😬? Am frankly watching to pass the time😞
C drama at its best, aTotally ‘pants’ ending🤦♀️. Still it was entertaining enough and it’s the best role that I have seen the FL in. ML was awesome as usual though as everyone has pointed out the character development faded to nothingness. Thanks script writer! 😬
In a way, for me, I guess this also explains why YFS said as long as Huai An was alive, Chang'an will not fall.…
Agreed. But ML did make the time device being used in the caves.🤷♀️ I am also hoping the last few episodes would demonstrate exactly WHY ML was revered and ‘feared’.
i think as the plot has been through XHA's lens throughout , in first part we were all as invested as XHA in revenge…
Do you think ML cared enough about that? Wasn’t he simply doing what he felt he had to do for his own clan? I think what he hadn’t quite realised was just how intertwined the whole situation was. They all felt that YFS was the main player. It was this piece that flummoxed them completely.
