Oh, dear! I have just scolded somebody else for using over-generalisation. Personally, I like the female lead. Therefore your comment is not correct. Ha ha.
Usually I ignore comments about this sort of thing. After all, there are female leads (korean and Chinese) that I just cannot watch because I find them so annoying (although I would not attack them personally) but, in the case of this particular female lead, I just cannot see why so many people are attacking her on so many different levels. To me, she is not the best but neither is she the worst. I would put her just to the right of average. I. e. She is performing within expected norms.

So far, there have been many negative remarks about cross-dressing on this page. Can you tell me why you are so interested in this genre so that I can get a balanced perspective of peoples' thoughts about it. Thank you.

They are not really my thing, too. And, like you, I gave this a chance because of CXX. Thus far, I have started five other Republican era dramas but given up after just a couple of episodes for one reason or another. Have you managed to find any other good Republican dramas - preferably with a happy ending and a FL who doesn't permanently shout, scream, or whine?

All? Was this over-generalization deliberate, Jeccy? I haven't blamed anyone for anything.
Hi, Jeccy. I don't know whether you mean a) "blame the actors" or whether you mean b) "blame the mdl members" (who are "blaming the actors").
I am far too old and far too educated to blame an actor / actress for his / her performance. Actors cannot be blamed for being bad actors. IF there must be blame (and I am not saying that there should be) one must look to directing or casting or some such.

Members have a right to express their opinions. Sadly, some members can not always form opinions intelligently or do not argue logically. Some just emote rather than think. Some members use logical fallacies* (a favourite amongst politicians - sadly, even the educated ones) to make their point.

* An example here would be an 'ad hominem argument' which can involve insulting a person instead of properly replying to a point that they raised, or when an argument attacks a person in a direct and abusive manner, instead of addressing the point that they are trying to make.

You said in your reply to my second post that you were not attacking me. I accept that.
However, in your original post - to all and sundry - you wrote, "Can you all just shut your mouth up.". I asked you if your overgeneralization (also a logical fallacy) was deliberate - but you didn't answer. ALL does not mean SOME. In this case you attacked not just me, but also many others - who did not blame the actors.

By swearing at people or attacking them, instead of their arguements, you are behaving as badly as they are and as a result your opinion will not be respected and you will lose to the other person however sound your arguement is.
Fans can be very irrational about their favourite actors, singers, or writers. If you can remember this, and not be so intense, you'll be in a better position to ignore comments that you don't like. :)

Thank you for the lengthy reply.
I agree with much of what you say and must confess that
when I wrote my original comments, I forgot about the 'carrying around of the letter' because my opinions re our sargeant (although be advised I am rooting for ML/FL) were formulated before watching episode 6.
Any way, to borrow a phrase, time will tell. I shall rewatch the relevant parts now.

Have you considered, that if the SML does discover her identity, she would be in danger - if not from him but from his father? (I'm getting conflicting vibes from the Left State Councillor.) Would he hide it from his father? What if he learns that his father is the bad guy?
Jo Sung Ha plays the good, the bad, and the morally ambiguous with equal elan. In a few dramas I have thought him (initially) to be a good guy (dropped red herrings) but he turns out to be the bad guy.
We know that the seargeant believes that she is not dead, but in what episode does it show that he believes that she didn't kill her family? Let me know so that I can rewatch it. Also, I got the impression that he was (possibly) behaving like an angry cuckold -- whether caused by jealousy or loss of face, I don't know. (I'll have to watch those scenes again.)

Yes, most of the time she does 'seem' sweet and honest, but there have been fleeting, strange looks directed at our FL that have caused me to question whether I should mistrust her.

I'm sorry, Jeccy, but I do not understand a word of what you have written. I cannot even say whether you are attacking me, agreeing with me, or even correcting me. I understand that English might not be your first language. Does anybody else understand what this person is saying to me? (I have just asked two of my colleagues, and they could not make heads or tails of it.) I would really like to know. Perhaps then, I can make a valid response. Perhaps some punctuation would help.

Wow, a fellow Trekker! Spock from OST or TNG?Jeremy Irons, Lolita, and Thorn Birds, too. Golden Oldies, or what?
I grew up with the original series - when it first aired. One question. How does one reply to more than one person - that is, so that others receive the same notification? Surely, I am not supposed to write my comment more than once? Is that what the 'share' option is? Sorry, can't find instructions anywhere, and I am quite new to this posting lark.

Thanks for your reply. I have been too busy watching the expressions of others - one of whom being the queen. For instance, when the FL was carrying the load on her back (when the princess was playing with the 3rd prince) the queen was smiling, then giving strange looks to our Fl - and that wasn't the only time.
