I wanted to watch this for Shogun but I put it off because of the comments here. I just binged the first 5 eps and ... this series is so entertaining! Yes, P'Eng is crazy. He has anger management issues and family issues and I'm thinking he did something to his previous lover. I am intrigued.

The mls have great chemistry and they're both very attractive. I do miss Shogun's real voice, but I got used to the dubbing during ep one. Sammy's Children's Day helped me get over my hate for mouth & voice not synching.

I don't mind that some scenes are repeated in the next episode, because it expands the scene and adds context. Unlike others, I never get the feeling that anyone is acting out of character. P'Eng is rich and powerful and acts like it in the worst ways. Plus don't forget... he's crazy. Paobei is poor and hard working and takes care of those around him. He knows to give in to the rich and powerful to save his own skin. P'Eng absolutely rubs him the wrong way so we have that friction that I'm really enjoying. Half the time, it's 'yes, boss' and the other half it's 'fk you'. 😂

Did I roll my eyes at the playful splashing in the bathroom? I did. Then I moved on because life is short and I want to see what happens next.

That first bathroom scene, when Giwoo told him to get treated in the nurse's office, was the only time anyone showed Hyeonjae even the most basic care. He latched onto that like a drowning man with a raft.
Part of me kept wishing Giwoo hadn't been so harsh, but you're right. His maturity mostly kept him in his right mind with a student.

I didn't want Hyeonjae to end up with Giwoo, but not because of the age gap. That boy needs to get away from his father and have years of therapy before he is relationship-ready. He wasn't in love with his teacher... he formed that desperate attachment as soon as he kept the ring in ep 1.

We need to also sing the praises of Lee Son Eum who wrote and directed this original screenplay. It looks like they will also direct the spin-off of Summertime, called Dongjeolgi, which will follow the story of I Hyeon. Yay!
And if you're downvoting just because you don't like open endings... it's so ridiculous that I don't even know what to say. "Grow up" came to mind, but that would be rude.

When Hyunjae asked the teacher not to give up on him I was hoping with everything in me that he would get a positive answer. It didn't have to be a romantic relationship, but that boy needed someone in his corner 😭

I think Seongwon avoided Jeongha after what his grandmother said (timeline is before the series started). But Jeongha thought it was maybe because Seongwon knew he liked him? Whatever he thought that avoidance was, his misunderstanding is what embarrassed him.
For your other question, the translation was "give me time to fall for you", but I think it was more like "give me time to understand my feelings".

Everyone is annoyed with Suzuki, but Serizawa is the one pissing me off. He knows Suzuki has very low self esteem and trust issues because of those old friends. He knows Suzuki is DENSE when it comes to this topic... he's even said so. Friend, just straight up tell him already! Or if you don't want to put that much pressure on him, have one of your friends do it (but not Takeuchi & Saeki cuz they're busy 🤭 )

I don't usually like period dramas either, but luat was good. JJ is hilarious. It started out funny and then got more serious. The ichitan sponsor spots were perfection 😂

Such a simple concept. I wish everyone could understand it.

When you start appreciating the "bad guys" , you'll enjoy the dramas even more. Every good story needs at least one and we get to enjoy 1.5 with this show (I don't think Renji is all bad)
