The women aren't portrayed as being there just for men. The men are portrayed as being dumb, hence why they act…
Please don't make false equivalencies or move the goal posts. That is childish behaviour.
I never said the objectification of women (or the other bad things the men are doing in the drama) is a good thing. It is clear and obvious to everyone that that is a bad thing. Did you understand the example of the crime drama from my last comment? Everybody understands that the crime committed by the character is a bad thing, right? Nobody goes to crime dramas' pages and posts comments saying they are shocked at how the victims of crime are portrayed.
I didn't dig up anything. I like this show and was curious about the comments. Your "dormancy" is fake; your profile clearly shows you are extremely active, so I don't know why you are triggered about the age of the comment.
I didn't "come in swinging;" again, you are manufacturing outrage because you can't engage in civil discourse. It's OK to disagree with me, but unless you are 8 years old, your behaviour is foolish and undignified. We all love dramas here, and that's why we're on this website. It's OK to have some disagreements about some things, but there is no reason to act like you are doing.
Your critique isn't wrong. You are right: the women are portrayed poorly. However, as I've tried to explain, the reason for this is because the men are extremely stupid. Somehow this wasn't an issue for you? Men being portrayed as air-headed simpletons who can barely function beyond a neanderthal level and only seem to care about primal desires was not a problem for you? Are men not people? It's just a goofy drama. Objectification of women isn't an isolated issue -- it exists as a side effect of a larger problem, which is the poor quality of the men who are treating the women like that in the first place. The root cause is the poor quality of the men. Good quality men wouldn't objectify women in the first place. Again, you are right, but you are upset at a work of fiction which made the ludicrous premise of the fictitious characters and environment abundantly clear.
Look, I've explained everything logically and even agreed with you, but it seems I encountered a highly sensitive person. I'm sorry to have caused you such grief. My intentions are nothing like this. This website is a happy place for me, and I try to get along with others. This doesn't mean I can't reply to comments to point some things out. In the future, please try not to get so worked up about things like this. I have every right to reply to your 3-year-old comment, or to anyone else's comment.

Why are you so upset? The men are portrayed as being dumb, hence why they act dumb. Intelligent men don't objectify women. The men in the drama do lots of things that are dumb. The show is quite clear about how it set up the characters. I don't know why you can't understand that.
You can dislike the objectification of women, but I don't think you understood that this behaviour was done by the men precisely because they were dumb. The show isn't somehow saying this is a good thing. For example, a crime drama might show a character stealing something, but we clearly understand that this behaviour is not alright, and that the character did that because he's a criminal. It's a bad thing done by a bad person. The bad thing in this drama is the objectification of women. Nobody is saying it's OK, just like nobody is saying the theft in the crime drama is OK.
Read our previous responses and the tone that was used in them, and you tell me who is the one who is triggered. So sorry for disturbing your dormancy.
last time I watched this was more than 10 years ago, I still like it but I'm shocked at how women are portrayed…
The women aren't portrayed as being there just for men. The men are portrayed as being dumb, hence why they act that way. It's also a very goofy drama, so obviously all the characters are unrealistic....
Oh, and it's about an all-boys' high school that bases its admissions on students' looks and not their academic merits, so they even lay out the premise for you, and you still had to make it about something else.
couldn't finish this. I just didn't feel the leads matched each other
Of course they didn't match each other. This was on purpose, and it was the entire premise of the drama! It's even called, "An Incurable Case of Love" because of the infatuation of the FL with the ML.
I'm only two episodes in, and it's actually really fun to watch. If you're a fan of any other Nogizaka46 shows, like their variety programs, I think you will like this as well!
I'm used to seeing Andy Lau in very serious roles, so seeing him in this slapstick comedy was pretty funny! Overall, a decent watch with the usual style of comedy that Stephen Chow brings.
This is a much better movie than you might be led to believe. It looks like the usual low-budget, camera-shaky, cheesy stuff they've been putting out the last few years, but it's not. It's quite well done and worth a watch!
The movie used to be on Beam Subs, but their website is no longer up. I found their page archived, but the links to the movie are down: https://web.archive.org/web/20250123235745/http://my.beamsubs.com/2021/08/keep-your-hands-off-eizouken-english.html
