On Step by Step Love Mar 29, 2024
This series is so entertaining and the chemistry between the leads is great! Their interactions are hilarious and sexy. I am so enjoying it. I did not know the actors but they are solid in their performances. I am glad more people are voting now because the first time I checked the rating was low when this is a series should be over 8 at least. Don't miss it.

Who was that guy from the last part of ep 4??? Is he an ex bf of iwanaga???
It is the Iwanaga's friend who make them broke up. It is written in the MBS website. The network that produce this BL, but there is more to the storyline, so let's see

Of course, if you go to MBS website and use your google translator it is written that this horrible man made them break up, but there is more to the story from what I can understand from a Japanese blogger.

I know! I would have rather preferred two episodes full of bed scenes like last ep! though it looks there still will be bed scenes next ep too :-)

New man?? For who?? We're seeing flames 🔥 next week.
There will be drama in the next ep and I am assuming reconciliation in the last one, This is the formula of short dramas. The next ep is based on Vol 3 of the manga and it is not a nice storyline. Because that woman who appears in the preview is also involved, not only the terrible male friend. Let's wait and see hopefully they will soften the plot of the manga as they often do in the live series.

Watching the next ep preview... I really hope they will not ruin the series by adding unnecessary drama... 😑😑

the potential was there but this show has been dragged out too much.. I feel like its the same cycle repeated…
I agree with everything that you said except that I feel the 2nd CP is unnecessary I do not even know what they are there, so no I don't want them to have more screen time

Very well said, I was so moved by their words in the bridge.

Mime player with the make up... that was my thoughts aswell. I deducted a point for that from my rating. Also…
TaeYi attitude put me off from the beginning, it was too harsh viewing. I know they will fall in love eventually but it demands lot of patience to wait for that spark to come when they are such sweet BLs at the moment airing. I don't have that much time tbh
This is a top BL, one of the best representative of the genre. The realism , intimacy and tenderness of the characters are unparalleled. All praise to Robin Furuya and Makoto Hasegawa in the leads. We know Robin F is an experienced actor but Makoto H artistry is basically as an idol in The Rampage , yet he delivers in every single scene. The sex scene was beautifully crafted, it belongs more to a LGBTQ+ "serious" international film than a BL. Without resting merit to the BL genre, productions here tend to bring more fake raunchy sex scenes (main example Thai BLs), quirky ones (like most JBLs) or very bland ones (K BL). We associate depth and visceral sex scenes to more serious LGBTQ+ productions. So this is a gem of a scene, to treasure for years to come!

Jaehan and Yechan were the best of this series. It was only a cameo in the 1st ep but they got it all those two, the charisma, the vulnerability, the beauty, so having to watch the rest of the plot full of bullying and not-likable characters was not a pleasant experience. I reserve my judgment on this BL. The other Omega boy here, Hangeyom is doing very well, I hope he has a lot of screen time. His pairing with the tall basketball boy looks more promising than the central CP. On another note, they should sack the makeup department! They make the actors look like ghosts, particularly, Kim Jin Kwon looks terrible! It is like he is performing in a pantomime and not in a BL!

Personally i prefer that way cause i think we have already seen too much romance recently and it become too much…
and the plots are basically the same! a total lack of originality in high-profile romances.

Yes, one of my friends has just written that the wider audience is loving the series and actors like Yibo are becoming popular among them which is good news for an actor in China.

I am hesitant to watch this. I think that this kind of drama doesn't suit Wang Yibo, I would've wanted him in…
Yibo excels in this kind of serious drama, where there is no romance. It is finally allowing him to get the respect that he deserves as the fine actor he has become. His performance in Hidden Blade is proof of this and he is receiving international mainstream acting nominations and recognition. Given the choice, several top actors in China would prefer no romance productions.

No romance? 😭 .... I would even be happy with slight romance
A number of top actors in China are trying to avoid plots with high-profile romances because the reaction of fans has become too toxic, When fans are at war, they are the ones who have to "pay the price" as per current government regulations. Additionally, the larger older audience prefers this kind of plot as they find romances too repetitive (so I have been told by Chinese friends living in China). This series is great, it is a pity that you are going to miss it.

This series is excellent. It is so interesting, great script, and impeccable performances. It is very dynamic, the pace is really quick. Yibo Wang excels as Wei Ruo Lei. His performance as a provincial, naive, and sweet genius is so moving. The scene in Ep 3 drank is unmissable. Yibo started to show that very vulnerable side of his acting since his role as LWJ in The Untamed, and he just keeps growing. My favourite Yibo's performances have been in his "communist" productions, portraying the young Jiang Xian Yun, an early communist hero, and of course as a secret agent in Hidden Blade. Wang Yan as Shen Tu Nan is so dashing and convincing. Li Qin is a hero in this production and it suits her so well. China has a rich and powerful history and by navigating the censorship and the propaganda we are able to enjoy this kind of production. This one in particularly I highly recommend.
On When a Snail Falls in Love Mar 20, 2024
I really like this series. It is very entertaining and has a good script and sound performances. For those criticising the FL character, you definitely are not fan of Scandinavian crime noir. These main characters FL and ML in police dramas that are socially awkward and authority clueless are inspired by the Swedish, Danish, Icelandic series. Since the boom of the Scandinavian crime noir every other series around the world in the crime/police genre has brought those kinds of borderline main characters. This series is a very good police drama but it is also light hearted which Scandinavian crime noir is not. Highly recommended.
