Yes, true, Sakurai happens to be an idol, but please don't have too may preconceptions just because of that. While I'm not a fan, I really think he did an outstanding job in Kazoku Game. He really really really deserves that award. Kazoku Game is not your typical fluffy drama anyway, so that drama being highly appreciated already proves that the results are not purely superficial.
Try watching the drama and you'll see why it's popular!!

When watching her in other dramas, I didn't really like her because I found her acting was lacking a lot... but she has really improved and I think she's doing just fine here.

I watched Akumu-chan and it didn't feel like it was targeted at only children. Actually I sometimes thought that some parts are a little too dark for children's stories. Don't skip it just because of that, it's really a great drama!!

This drama is so cute!
There's two things that are really refreshing. First, the male lead is NOT her first love. Second, he actually realizes is feelings and doesn't wail in denial. Yay!

I'm really glad I stuck with it although the first eps didn't convince me. It improved so much and I really like ep5+6! Seems like it'll only get better~

My mom usually spends her nights watching western series. So when I was still living at my parents' I would often meet her in the hallway at 4 or 5 am and we would exchange these guilty looks, but I never got scolded for it xD
