Ep 22 was so sad for my ji ling But I kinda think that the scent on jiling is connected to the real dragon deity…
from what I read, the 'scent' is his loneliness, which is why only LWY can smell them as she is also 'lonely'. This 'loneliness' eventually develops its own 'consciousness', that is Ji Shi, who offer LWY the power to turn back the time as Ji Shi himself can't bear to see JL died 🙂
