Obssesion is the keyword!
I’d been looking forward to a C-drama like this for a long time. It’s been ages since a show managed to hook me this much — probably not since The Prisoner of Beauty.Everything about this series was amazing: the pacing, the lack of filler episodes, the chemistry between the main characters, and the well-balanced screentime. It’s one of those dramas where you can clearly see the difference in depth between the leads and the supporting cast.
The obsession I feel for this drama is actually comparable to the kind of obsession some of the characters feel, and I think that emotion was portrayed so well on screen. The relationship between the leads is also so beautiful that it makes you fall in love with both of them.
I’ve loved Lu YuXiao since My Journey to You, she’s such a versatile actress. But in this drama, I completely fell for Hou Minghao. Oh my god! I had never seen him before, and now I can’t stop watching his work. He’s such a talented actor, and you can really tell how much effort and emotion he puts into every role.

Un drama para repetir y volver a sentir las mariposas como la primera vez.
Mi encuentro con este drama fue pura coincidencia. Estaba viendo The Truth temporada 3 con Liu Yuning, y como me había puesto la meta de ver al menos un drama de cada miembro del elenco, me topé con The Prisoners of Beauty justo el día de su estreno. Podría decirse que fue cosa del destino, porque definitivamente este drama dejó una marca en mí.El desarrollo de la relación, el crecimiento de los personajes, la ambientación, la familia, el amor... todo fue simplemente hermoso. Es de esos dramas que no solo te gustan y olvidas, sino que se quedan contigo. Para mí, ya forma parte de mi "cultura general", algo que definitivamente volvería a ver sin pensarlo dos veces.
Espero volver pronto a ese universo, y sin duda deseo ver más dramas protagonizados por Liu Yuning y Song Zuer.

El dramon del año
0 expectativas y me dejaron grabe, gracias a este drama tengo ansiedad porque quiero mas y mas. Cada capítulo es mejor que el anterior, el drama esta enfocado en lo que tiene que estar enfocado, nada de relleno. Me tiene mal, boy a demandar a MBC por daño emocional. Dije que necesito mas? Hasta me leí la novela, y adivinen? Quiero más. QoT habia dejado la vara y dejenme decir que en definitiva este tiene una calidad fabulosa. La unica manera de que baje es si le bajan a la escritura de los episodios, pero hasta ahora? Quiero mas y mas.Was this review helpful to you?
MY favorite drama of the year.
Along with Moving, The Good Bad Mother and My Dearest, this drama is definitely on the top five of best dramas of 2023. Had zero expectations and started watching cause I was bored. Best choice EVER🍉The acting, the cast, the music. Despite being a "musical drama" I wasn't overwhelmed about the music content. Even though it is based on the 90's this drama felt so refreshing to my ears.
There is a lot of scenarios that makes yourself putting on their shoes. Yi Chan's relationship with his grandma was so heart warming, showing how the relationship of some of us who were raised by their grandma.
