3 facts about this drama: A) To me the second half is much more entertaining then the first. Like I do understand that all introductions and background stories are needed, but in the second half FL is much less annoying and ML much less cold. They do actually make great couple the moment we pass episode 20 B) I deeply admire that the plot, unlike almost every xianxia dramas I have watched so far (and I have watched more then I should have, really) does make sense, there are no plot holes (at least so far) and the editing is not rushed (again, so far). And we need to consider that it was filmed 2 years ago before the cap of 40 episode and other censor sh*t were introduced, so hands down, this one keeps the story logical and together. C) I would never thought I say this, but XZ didn't steel the drama for himself as I was expecting. Second ML is wonderfully cast and for god's sake they should give Alen Fang a leading role in costume drama as a gift to us all. I honestly cannot decide for who to root for, both characters are so nicely done and cast that no matter who will win and who will loose, it will be surely painful to watch. I feel so much angst in the air coming our way!!
I must appreciate that the underwater scene was truly shot underwater - 10/10 for filming work and CGI work, the dragon was impressive. Also XZ looks stunning in pastel purple. I'm yet to fall for their chemistry, it's rather slow burn for me in this one, but we are not even in half so I hope some mad love declarations and blood spitting will come our way before it's over :D

I didn't know about the age gap in original novel, thank you for sharing! I do see now why they adjusted it, no need to risk that the drama won't pass the review because of some people being too sensitive
I do enjoy the drama, except for two things. A) I do admire XZ and I do love his acting in this one but he cannot pass for 18 years old no matter how good he looks :D and B) main FL is again irritating as almost every xianxia FL in history. Is being cute with high pitched voice and half of the brain some chinese stereotype for love worthy women? Anyway, if you have some xianxia drama recommendation where FL is not mentally 10 years old, please do share :) So far I would say that only Ten miles of peach blossoms and Till the end of the moon didn't fall into that category. Anyway I will finish this one to feast my eyes on XZ with no shame😁
So I finally finished the drama, and I know it's not exactly happy ending and I'm not sure if I read the ending correctly, BUT judging by the last scene I think TTJ is somehow still alive in the Scale and SuSu knows and is waiting for him to return. Something like God of War on Bo're life. Not sure if it's correct but I like the idea and I can live with it as form of promise of their future happy life that we won't get to see, but it's there❤️
Question for my fellow addicts: When YBC and Pian Ran meet in the military camp, YBC recognises her. Did they met before at the beginning of the show? I have eyes for TTJ only for most of the times so it's quite possible I forgot about the encounter :D
I know they had to cut the number of episodes, and honestly compared to other dramas facing same challange they did really good job as the story is fast paced but still makes sence with very little plot holes, but still... I want to see full version! I want to see every attempt of YXW to make TTJ fall for her and every soft smile of his when he falls a bit deeper and new spike is formed. We must have missed so many sweet moments😭I hope that the longer version can be released somehow someday ❤️ 40 episodes are not enough!
Truth to be told - I already miss SuMo, he was great, strong yet soft, loving, caring and dedicated character. And beautiful! Ok, the ending wasnt that good but still I was hooked to this drama everyday, so after all i would give 7.5-8 rating. Big plus for love triangle not really beying triangle. I even liked Na Shen and Yanxi line and OST is great. I think I will wantch some of SuMo's action scene to fill the void today. And reluctance of letting go is always sign of good drama, at least for me. PS: I think the last scene definitely wasn't just imagination. He promised her to come. Did SuMo ever break his promises?

And if she would still need it, why not to return it to SuMo so they can live together even without sun? Not like that there is so much sunshine under the sea anyway. I honestly thought that the half of his soul will mean something in the end and it will help him survive. Because it was so early there, why not to use it? How does he now comes back every year, what power he uses to materialise from rain? Do they just stare at each other for day and thats it? Is there no dragon god blood so there won't be any in the future? So many plot holes. Pity as when I started this i though ML&FL don't have any chemistry and ML is ugly. The grew on me, I strated to love them and really appreciated ML later in the show. But such rush ending...
Well I saw a clip from modern days and I wouldn´t be completely against it if there will be a reason why they entered 11th reincarnation. It was mention in LAR that GoW will go through 10 reincarnations, XinJi beying her last one. That means that after they both dies they will return to heavens, right? I can see something happening in there that would send them through another reincarnation trip however it brings me to another question - what about their child? If they have a kid while beying humans, the kid is human as well so cannot go to heavens with them even after kid dies. So will they leave the child behind, going to heavens and back to earth in modern days? As I said, I wouldn´t be against them having new life in modern world, if there will be any logic behind it.
